Hello boxing fans around the world.
Thank you once again for joining us for another episode of neil the deal featuring neil the deal himself here on talk and fight and uh.
As has heard this this week, we’re going around canada looking for great fighters and i think you’ve got a new one for us tonight right, that’s absolutely correct, graham how you doing buddy.
Thank you uh, thanks for having me really appreciate it right on thanks for coming out guys right on talking fight fans.
I really appreciate you coming out and checking out the show yep we’re continuing with our canadian up and coming boxers guys that i feel are gon na have a chance in the next year or two that possibly uh challenged for a world title and uh this kid Here is uh, definitely gon na be a uh, have a really good chance in the next couple of years.
So keep your eyes on them.
We’Re gon na be talking about cody crowley.
Cody crowley is his name and uh.
He has a nickname.
They call him the crippler, the crippler cody ripler crowley.
I like that.
It’S got a good ring to it.
So uh cody was born march.
25Th.
1993 makes him 28 years old in good old peterborough ontario, canada peterborough so he’s from peterborough, but he presently resides in las vegas.
He uh he moved uh to las vegas for the uh for the training down there and uh his his coaches are down there.
So he’s been he’s been living, but his parents are still in peterborough and and he’s doing a lot of stuff in peterborough, so he’s kind of back and forth.
So his career started in 2014 and he’s actively a present fighter.
He fights in the welterweight division and uh he’s known for.
If you watch any of his fights guys check out this kids fights, he is super aggressive, like almost swarming aggressive when he fights he.
He literally swarms his opponents and uh his style.
He puts like tons of pressure on his opponents and he’s got he’s got all kinds of gas in the tank.
He never gets tired and he’s got wicked hand speed.
So all these things going for him.
I really like the way that he uh he maneuvers around.
The ring and does does his thing and uh he’s been working really hard on his defense and uh, a bunch of stuff, his footwork and stuff, to improve that as well as everything else.
But uh he’s been really making uh making a mark in the last year or so uh in in the welterweight division here in canada, now he’s ranked number nine by the wba in the walter weight division.
So he is ranked he’s a ranked fighter in his amateur career.
He had 60 bouts as an amateur and he did really well as an amateur like uh.
He represented us at uh, the commonwealth games and he won a bronze medal.
He won three provincial welterweight championships as well ontario championships and he also won the canadian amateur championship.
So he’s done really well in his amateur career and uh.
He’S he’s pushing that forward into his pro career and he’s been getting he’s been getting a lot of in the last little while he’s been getting a lot of recognition, which i he truly deserves it, because his life story is really interesting.
He uh, you know he didn’t really start out in boxing.
He was.
He was basically playing hockey, graham all canadian sports stuff like that, and eventually he just loved the boxing.
So he continued to go into boxing and uh.
Now that he’s now that he’s turned pro he’s had a fantastic career so far, so we’ll go over a little bit of his pro totals here.
He’S had 19 bouts, guys 19 bouts and he has 19 wins there.
You go another canadian, undefeated, canadian boxer love.
It got ta love it.
These guys are all undefeated the guys that i was talking about this week, so so uh, that’s that’s awesome to be 19-0 is is basically he can’t get much better than that.
Uh he’s got nine kos, which gives him a knockout percentage of 47 and he did mention that he’s been working on his power down in las vegas, with his with his trainers and stuff.
So uh he’s he’s definitely going to be upping that uh ko ratio real soon, so he turned pro at uh 21 years old and, like i say he moved to las vegas where he currently resides now.
This is interesting.
We went down there basically because he was looking to get uh get into getting a new trainer down there and they have uh some big facilities down there in las vegas and he’s actually being trained.
Now by former world heavyweight champion.
Haseem rahman’s brother wow ivan so ivan khasoon is uh, rachman’s brother and he is the trainer of cody presently and also business partner.
Now we’ll talk about that in a minute here so down there, he was uh, he was fighting, they were giving him.
They were trying to get him into some fights.
I understand that were a little bit over his head in the early on uh stuff, so they want to.
You know, bring him in slowly bring him in slowly.
I guess get him get him better and each fight get her better in each fight, so he decided uh to start his own.
Now, graham, i don’t know if you know about this, but uh, he promotes his own bouts in canada, primarily out of peterborough at the memorial auditorium here in peterborough, and i believe he’s had four or five bouts and they’ve been sellouts every night.
Wow.
That’S really! That’S really really cool that he’s uh promoting his own shows up here in canada and and he’s getting like sellout response every time he goes and fights in peterborough.
So that’s that’s like awesome, cody that that’s really wicked.
I really – and i really give you a lot of credit for that and uh his promotional company is called ccc promotions, so we’ll have to check that out ccc promotions and uh.
It’S been so successful in peterborough that the mayor in peterborough has given him at some point, gave him the key to the city and they now have a cody crowley day in peterborough.
So congratulations cody on on getting the key to the city and having a a date named after you.
That’S awesome.
That’S totally awesome man, so he’s got a big contingency of friends and uh fans up there and and down here.
Southern ontario people been going up and uh supporting him so uh, hopefully you guys will check them out, continue to check them out now he’s uh.
He won a couple of titles here in may 2017 he won the uh canadian.
It’S called the cpbc canadian promotional boxing council international super welterweight championship and then in may 2018, the one year later he won the cpbc national championship.
So he does have some canadian titles under his belt, which is great and uh when he was down in las vegas.
After you know, he was down there for a little bit.
I understand he’s been a couple of years ago.
He was called in into uh spar with floyd mayweather jr, which is crazy when you think about that.
So he was brought in there to spar before the manny pacquiao fight and the conor mcgregor fight that they had a couple of years ago and ever since then he’s been getting he’s he’s been sparring with all kinds of world champions.
So that’s just going to help him out getting better and better and better because he’s not only sparring with him but he’s actually learning from them, and i understand they’re helping them out guys like uh, like tim, bradley, uh, zab, judah, uh, georges uh, jorge linares, all Kinds of these world champions are helping him out, so i’m looking at him really starting to make make a mark in the next couple of years with with uh, with everything now he’s.
He also one of his goals.
I understand was to actually promote through that ccc promotions, uh, a fight and hopefully, he’s involved in a title fight with that at the scotiabank arena, which would be pretty awesome.
Oh yeah he’s been trying to promote it.
Uh, that’s one of his goals is to promote a boxing at the scotiabank arena here in in toronto.
So let’s hope that that he can at some point bring that down i’d love to see you fight in the scotiabank arena and win a world title cody.
That would be awesome, awesome, awesome, stuff.
Now, most recently, his most recent fight was uh september 6th 2020.
He won by unanimous decision over a guy named josh torres and that’s a really good fight.
If you guys want to check out that fight, cody crowley versus josh torres and some other notable fights that he’s had in the last couple of years that i really liked uh, he, he fought stuart mcclellan.
Who was a former canadian champion.
They had some sort of thing going on there for quite a while.
I remember hearing about that and he ended up winning and beating mcclellan uh.
He also fought milan hussein and another canadian kevin hixson.
So any of those fights, cody crowley versus any of those guys are great fights.
I’M really looking forward to seeing him fight again and uh, be it hey, scotiabank arena or even peterborough memorial auditorium.
You know i’d love to see him fight real soon.
So keep your eyes up for cody crowley, i’m sure he’s gon na surprise, y’all he’s certainly uh he’s, certainly he’s certainly amazing in my books and i’m looking forward to seeing him again, graham wow, that was you’ve blown me away.
Uh you’ve left me speechless.
I’Ve a never heard of him and and – and i can’t believe he’s canadian he’s fighting out of las vegas and and you you’re saying he’s being trained by mayweather or happens to have sparred with some of the mayweather boys like uh.
Is he manny? Is he managed by mayweather, no he’s not managed by mayweather or anything but uh when mayweather was looking for somebody to he needed some sparring guys before some of his bouts cody uh cody was called to uh spar with him down in las vegas and uh.
He went down there, so they apparently they they still talk.
You know um and he’s been helping him out a little bit here and there doing whatever you need.
You know is his uh mayweather’s camp but, like i said, he’s he’s been he’s been sparring with apparently 15 16 17 world champions over the last couple of years, so that can only make him better better and better.
And that’s what that’s that’s the whole name of the game here you know he’s he’s he’s getting better better and better.
That’S it yeah! That’S awesome and i’m looking forward to seeing him fight real soon.
I’D really i’d like to go see him in peterborough honestly.
So if he, if cc’s promotions, does another show uh up there in the near future, i’ll definitely make my way up there and check him out absolutely you guys should too well.
Hopefully we can get him to uh register his profile on our talkandfight.
com site, uh upload.
Some of his video clips, so we can actually see uh and show them to our viewership out here what this guy’s all about, because peter was only an hour, drive really up the highway for us and uh i’d love to go see one of those fights too.
This guy sounds like a great guy good.
Fine neil way to go.
Undefeated can’t get much better than that.
Cody cross amazing.
There you go so, let’s uh the deal yeah home run yeah knocked out the park.
That’S a home run right on blue jays.

They need to get better, not bitter all, right right, okay, guys! Well thanks a lot for coming out, checking out the show tonight.
