Hey good evening talk and fight fans.
You got neil the deal here.
We running solo tonight so uh, thanks for coming out checking out the show we’re going to be talking about uh, a boxer that i feel is probably the best european boxer of all time.
If not, i don’t know who’s better than him, because in my books i’ve been watching him.
Since i was a kid and uh, he was phenomenal.
So we’re gon na talk about joe kalazagi joe kalazagi tonight so joe was born joe, william kalazagi, and he has a nickname guys check this out.
His nickname is the pride of wales, the pride of whales and the italian dragon.
That’S what they call him.
So he was born march 23, 1972.
That makes him 49 years old this year and his career expanded from 1993 to 2008.
He fought in two divisions: the super middleweight division and the light heavyweight division, and this guy’s career guys was absolutely fantastic.
I loved it every time i watched him fight.
I i just was looking forward to it constantly.
He was.
He was amazing.
Every fight i ever saw him in.
He was exciting to watch.
He uh always put on a great show and i’ll tell you.
He had some really classic knockouts in his career.
So let’s go through some of his stuff tonight.
He won uh the world.
He won world championships in two weight divisions and he was the unified wba, wbc ibf wbo and ring magazine lineal super middleweight champion of the world and also he moved up to light heavyweight and became the ring magazine light heavyweight, uh champion.
This is an interesting stat guys check this out the longest.
He is the longest reigning super middleweight champion in boxing history.
He held the wbo title for over 10 years and defended it 20 times 20 times.
That’S that’s a record in itself 20 times to defend your title.
Unbelievable.
This guy was amazing.
He was rated the eighth greatest boxer of all time and when you see some of his fights you’ll know why this guy was phenomenal at everything uh.
He was uh.
He was also rated as they say, the greatest european boxer of all time, and i just said it earlier on and i truly believe that he was definitely the greatest european boxer of all time, unbelievable now his amateur career, he started fighting when he was nine years Old and uh, obviously he didn’t have any.
He started.
Uh fighting his dad was uh, helping him out and stuff and uh.
Once he got into his amateur career.
He had an unbelievable amateur career.
So let’s go over.
His amateur totals now uh.
He had 120 bouts of which he won 110 with 10 losses, so he only lost 10 out of 120 votes.
That is super amazing.
Now he also had some awards when he was an amateur.
He won four aba schoolboy titles.
He won three british aba championships between 1990 and 1993.
.
He won in three of four weight divisions: all championships from 90 to 93 uh welterweight, uh, light middleweight and middleweight.
So, each year he moved up uh as he was getting older and in 1991 he won the gold medal at the english national champs championships in london representing wales, so uh his parents are of welsh descent.
So his pro totals go like this.
He turned pro in 1993 and he had 46 bouts in his career.
Wins guys unbelievable check this out.
46 wins zero losses, undefeated undefeated, unbelievable.
He had 32 knockouts.
So any of his fights super exciting and uh like i say he was a knockout artist and uh.
He was really known for his ferocious punching power.
Uh great ring presence.
He moved around the ring really fluidly.
He was very aggressive.
He had a very aggressive style, incredible hand, speed and he threw great combination punches.
So if you watch any of his fights, he really had everything going for him.
Everything in his toolbox was working and being 46-0.
I guess he can see why guys that is an incredible career.
He uh he retired undefeated.
So as a pro well yeah, he retired, undefeated, and – and he was one of only 15 world champions – he was a world champion when he retired and he’s one of only 15 to ever do that retire, undefeated.
So let’s go over some of his uh.
Some of his belts over the uh over his probe career october 1995.
He won the british super middleweight title october 1997.
He won the wbo super middleweight title his first uh world championship march 2006.
He won the ibf and ring magazines, super middleweight, title titles uh november 2007.
He won the wba super and wbc super middleweight titles and april 2008.
He won ring magazine’s light heavyweight title so throughout his career.

He fought numbers and numbers of of like fantastic fighters, guys like uh roy jones jr was a fantastic fight.
If you want to check out a great kawasaki fight, uh bernard hopkins was another fantastic uh fight with uh kalisagi peter manfredo jr.
He was a great.
It was a great fight as well jeff lacy, these guys are all world champions and uh chris eubank senior uh.
Just that’s like literally just to name a few.
This guy fought everybody and the crazy part about his career guys.
He was in a title fight pretty much from 1997.
Every time he fought till he retired 2008 24 straight title fights in a row.
That’S that’s! Like unheard of 24 straight, he was inducted into the international hall of fame boxing hall of fame in 2014, and presently there is some rumbling that he might come back guys and have uh one of these exhibition bouts with roy jones jr.
These uh pay-per-view exhibition bouts.
So i’m really looking forward to seeing joe calizagi again in the ring.
I mean he’s four years old, but hey i’d be interested in roy jones.
Jr is 52, so uh.
There is some rumbling that he is going to fight uh sometime later this year or early next year, so check them out, keep your eyes open for for uh for kalisagi, and he, like, i said he was amazing all the way along.
