What up talking fight fans thanks for tuning in to today’s episode of knuckle up with yours, truly mike horror and unfortunately, no cedric today, guys he’s busy training in the gym, keeping his people ready to fight.
But we got a good one for you today, dallas calipoo.
Yes, i said it dallas caliph, this kid 23 years old is originally from hawaii stays in hawaii.
He is now 3-0 with three knockouts in the light division.
He is ranked 115 out of 292 and 729 of 2207 in the world guys he is coming off a wonderful second round, ko back on.
May the 25th of this year against cesar uh yeah cedric.
Did you finally join me brother? No, no here he is here.
He is we’re talking about him.
Alice, hello, yes, mr dallas, is that how you pronounce it yeah? It’S a dallas! California, is how i got the pronunciation yeah, that’s how it is.
He is hawaiian uh.
You know golden boy promotions.
Here man split team management, david wick, water.
Let’S talk is that that that explains the uniqueness of the sounding name in hawaii um.
I was going through looking at it as amateur fights you can tell as an amateur.
He even had a pro style already just right from three years ago, boxing national championships um so yeah he had a pro style already as an amateur, so obviously he was able to adapt to the professional ranks uh pretty easily, with the second round, knockout still opponent, Um, how many fights is he into his current uh? He’S he’s three and oh right now with three knockouts sporting, that hundred percent? You know what it is: um yeah man, his amateur record, i believe, was 17 and eight um.
He st he began fighting uh in 2015 at the age of 16, fighting at super light, um, yeah and uh.
You know gets picked up here by golden boy and uh split t and now is uh doing very, very well in the in the pro ranks um.
You know he’s trained by fred pierre at wawani, boxing club uh.
You know he western elite, qualifier he’s an elite national champion and uh.
You know he fights out of his hometown hawaii.
So you know: there’s there’s a couple of hawaii uh hawaiian top amateur boxers man, asa stevens, who we will talk about next week, um and this kid here, man dallas and you know he will box in the light weight.
You know like stevens, who hails from the same hometown uh.
He was rated number five by usa, boxing uh when he left the amateurs uh.
He was originally trained by carlo nito tengiro, again managed by split team management, and you know this kid sat sat for about a year uh after signing with golden boy before he actually got a fight and uh.
You know what now that uh.
Now that he’s got that out of the way he’s doing real well here, man, with this 3-0 with three knockouts.
What way does he wait? He he weighs in his last fight, he weighted 136 pounds he’s in that light division.
So – and you know what the kid’s young man he’s only 23 years old, so he’s got lots of time in his career.
You know he he debuted on february the 13th 2021 and fought twice this year march and may so you know the kid is very busy.
He wants to stay busy and i can’t wait to see this kid pop back into the ring uh.
You know in the next couple of months i’m hoping uh yeah yeah.
Definitely so we just bought a couple of months ago, a nice nice second round, knockout and uh.
You know he he’s dangerous because he throws power punches from full extension.
He has a long reach, yeah power.
He throws power from that long reach.
Um kind of like reminds me just – i was just thinking that off the top of my head when sergey kovalev, the crusher was in his prime, you know tall long guy that two power punches from the distance.
That’S what the dallas reminds me of um so excited to follow his career.
Oh definitely, definitely i can’t wait to see this get back in the ring.
I like i like his power shots.
Man he’s a finisher uh.
If you watch the highlights from his last fight, man he’s got a vicious uh inside uppercut there, man that he can just land at will when he sees that opening it’s so you know, the kid is very talented, definitely had more of a style geared towards this Uh, this pro game definitely uh.
When you do watch this kid perform and honestly guys, i want you to be – you know, be on this kid’s tails.
Man watch him watch him progress as he climbs through these ranks in uh.
You know in a great fashion.
Actually, you know finishing he’s got a 100 finish rate.
We still have to see his potential right.
Like he’s finishing these kids off, we’ll see what happens man in the future.
Hopefully he can stay on that track frederick.
What do you got to add to this? One? Uh just that uh, you know when these guys look good early on in their careers.
It’S just curious to see how how far, because, obviously, when you move the more fights you have the better competition you fight.
So it’s always curious to see how long they can look good against their opponents before it’s a you know, an even match-up, where they really have to dig down and and test their just their heart.
Ups he’s doing very good so far.
Hopefully he can continue this street goal.
Definitely, you know he’s a huge kid for 135, so you know i look forward to seeing him grow in in what is a very stacked division, for you know this golden boy at 140 yeah, especially at 140, 130 division.
It’S very stacked man and everywhere from from 130 to 135 to 140 to 147 to 154.
You know, i guess 160 is kind of quiet right now, but then 168 i mean every almost every weight.
Division right now is crazy, but specifically right now, the lightweight uh lightweight division at 140.
also also forgot that he is a team.
He was a team usa member so definitely definitely a highly tuned amateur.
Yes, yes, definitely the amateur background which uh helps you in the pro ranks as far as experience.
Definitely all right guys.
