Thanks for tuning in to this episode of The Knuckle Up knockout of the week, it is Sunday I am Mike Gore and yes, this is talking fight.
You know what you’re doing guys you’re here to see who we’ve picked as our Knuckle Up knockout of the week, and I am proud to say that a young and up-and-comer has earned this prestigious award that we present every week and that is going to a man By the name of Dante, Benjamin Jr – yes, guys, if you don’t know this young cat Dante, Benjamin Jr, 20 years old man, 20 years old, he’s one of these hungry young undefeated ovencomers.
Here, man, he is from Cleveland Ohio and he is managed by David McWater, David McWater and he’s ranked 16 out of 164 and in the United States right now and 108 at a 1266 in the world.
Now he fought last night against another undefeated guy Emmanuel Austin, who is 6-0, and this one did not go the distance guys uh our men here, Cleveland born Dante, Benjamin Jr remain undefeated and handed Emmanuel Austin Kenner of Louisiana, his first career defeat when the pair squared Off at Turning Stone Resort, this one was great man.
It was scheduled for six rounds in that light, heavyweight belt.
It didn’t go the distance, although Austin got back to his feet.
Beating the first eight counts.
The referee stepped in and waved the fight off at two minutes and 50 seconds guys.
If you didn’t see this, this was a big Left Right combination from our man, brilliant brilliantly connected.
Definitely I was surprised that Austin ended up getting off his butt after being laid down on the mat like that man, it was pretty uh.
It was pretty good to be honest, this young cat.
He is one of these kids that is Young and Hungry and up and coming, and he says that the lightweight division better look out because 2023 is this guy’s year.
Well guys I usually have a slideshow that I’ve clipped for you to show up.
I just didn’t have time today to do it, so what I’m going to do is is I’m going to drop the Highlight in the comments so that you guys don’t have to search far for it man but you’re going to want to check it out this literally At like 38 seconds of the first round Dante Benjamin drops Austin very quick with a big Left Right combination.
He never really fully recovered.
You could see that when they, when he did get back up and he beat the eight count, they did.
You know exchange another blow or two, but tied up really quickly.
Uh then created some distance between the two of them and Dante.
Benjamin just fed him against the ropes guys left right left right.
The ref had enough.
He was not going to watch it anymore and he just stepped in to uh to stop it man and saving him for himself.
But you could see that the bombardment of shots that Austin was receiving did put this guy out on his feet, guys when the ref grabbed a hold of him.
This guy had no idea where he was man.
This kid Dante Benjamin’s got big heavy hands, already he’s only 20 years old, guys Cedric this kid.
What do you think about it? Man, uh from that one shot.
That was my first time seeing him last night, um very accurate with his punches and um.
He knows how to finish his opponent when he has the mark, sometimes people and it’s the accuracy of the punches too like when you see someone sometimes you’ll, see a fighter, hurt his opponent and they can’t finish them off and then uh you’ll see you know.
People will say that he punched himself out well yeah.
If, if you have your opponent hurt and you you know, he’s lucky enough to last the eight counts, if you can and he’s still, you know, you’re not just 100 recovered after an eight count.
So if you can make your punches, accurate, specifically on the chin or anywhere to the body, you know the the accumulation of that you know any any opponent can’t take that.
That’S why you know that’s.
That was what stuck out when he, after he heard his opponent.
He finished him off with that big right hand that big right hand that hurt his opponent uh that really rung his belt.
You know and then uh that that distance just allowed Dante Benjamin to really reset himself and then pick those perfect shots that you’re talking about and not wasting any energy doing it.
So you know I.
I feel that really Emmanuel Lawson wasn’t wasn’t really with it.
After that, first big right hand that created that that gap between them, that allowed Dante Benjamin to then you know, throw those big right hand and left hands that put him on his ass against the ropes honestly, I was surprised he even made the eight count man After after those big shots, uh just goes to show you man that uh.
You know that adrenaline, when it’s pumping man will make you stand on your own.
So that’s why sometimes you preach safety Cedric, you know.
Sometimes these refs got to save the fighters from themselves, and definitely that was the case last night with the ref stepping in uh two minutes and 50 seconds of the first round.
You know, like Dante, Benjamin was teeing awful.
This kid was on the ropes and he was just getting hit, left and right again and uh.
You know it was.
It is what it is man and it ends up being our Knuckle Up, not go to the week.
Definitely but we got to touch on another one, another one that was a runner-up for us.
This was a hard choice for us guys to pick uh, which knockout but um.
We’Ve got to talk about it that big cut man, that nasty cut one punch because uh the fight that we’re talking about is Johnny Rice versus Guido vianello, yeah uh, I’m thinking of the 2016 Olympian for Italy, um Johnny rice, one of those guys that has uh You know one of those life comeback stories: uh wasn’t good and boxing saved his life um.
So it was a cool story there, but specifically with that right hand um, it was a one-two, the jab actually came up short and he still were right hand and the cut.
Usually the cut was so bad, and the thing about that, usually when, when cuts are that bad, it’s usually because, like it’ll start with a small cut and then they keep hitting the same spot and then it opens up over a couple of rounds, but that the Cut literally went from his eyebrow all the way to like the side of the side of his face, um, and that was just from one punch from one hard straight right hand from a heavyweight um, so you Johnny races the accuracy and power um yeah.
So that’s how that one started because it was actually like um.
It was a very close fight coming up to that big stop, and you know these two guys were really going at it.
Um you know is that that’s gon na.
I guess I guess a cut like that will really cause problems, maybe in the future man with uh, with the scar tissue that it’s gon na cause man, because that was a huge gosh.
Literally it looked like it was dangling down right in front of his eyeball man.
It was pretty gross guys um, but yeah this uh, this fight.
You know it was uh seventh round uh, which is my scorecard, and I had actually had a draw going into the going into that round.
So yeah the rest.
It was a very close fight man.
It was a really good fight man.
You know a great way to you know, get the heavy weights going, but yeah that cut guys was discussing.
You know, like Cedric said you know, Cuts like that, usually don’t happen from one shot.
It’S repetitive punching in the same area that just oh, you know, starts to split it over the over time in the fight this one just literally split open Mandarin cookies.
Yes, yes, Carl Mandarin, cookies uh, it’s made my back 40.
.
If you don’t know guys, I’m at work right now so yeah what it is, it is what it is.
Yes, girl, big fight this week, Eubank Junior versus Liam Smith.
Yes, I’m super hyped about that uh yard and better Bev in two weeks.
Huge fights yes and see, see Carl.
That gym is tidy brother.
That gym is real, tiny, but guys.
You know what it is man, it’s the knuckle up.
Knockout of the week we give it to our man, Dante Benjamin huge, huge knockout for him, 20 years old.
The sky’s the limit for this kid he says 2023 – is the year that you’re gon na know this kid we’ll see what happens.
Only time will tell uh yo shout out shout out to that uh, vanilla, cut man or sorry the another guy that was huge um.
Pretty pretty nasty um and you know, definitely earned that doctor’s stoppage, but there wasn’t too many knockouts this weekend guys.
So you know, hopefully, next weekend with all these big fights that are coming up.
We’Re gon na have some great great footage for you to see guys.
