Thank you.
What up? What up? What up wagon welcome back to the score card? The boxing scorecard, where I asked people to bring your scorecard and an explanation.
Not just simply your opinion.
Last night we had a big light heavyweight matchup between Anthony yardi and Arthur better Bev uh.
The the fight was stopped in the eighth round by uh, better bieve.
I you know it was a 100 100 knockout stoppage, uh percentage uh.
As I said before, anytime, I mentioned this guy’s name Arthur better Bia, this guy’s one of the monsters in uh in boxing right now with a 100 knockout TKO rating.
If he doesn’t stop you, then the referee is going to come in to save you or your corner is going to throw in a towel to save your life against this guy.
This guy archer, better be of his is uh, is something else uh the Challenger, though the Challenger was Anthony Yadi, which is funny because I you know my my heart was with Yardie, but my brain was with better be of my background, my father’s from Guyana, my Mom’S from Antigua, but I have a lot of family members that are from Jamaica too a lot of my cousins and stuff.
So my heart was with the Jamaican, but my brain was with Better B of just as because of how dangerous he is now yardi and that’s funny dude, because the nickname for people that come from the island is Yardie and his last name is actually yardi.
Um, 31 years old, with a record of 23 wins uh with three losses: 23 wins with 22 knockouts um! That’S that’s! That’S pretty impressive.
So his knockout ratio was 84 percent um yeah 31 years old from the UK.
He doesn’t have a nickname, there’s no nickname under his name here um.
He already he’s he’s uh, interesting, interesting boxer, because there’s not not too much known about him or about his competitors, because a lot of the guys that he faced are you know from the other side of the pond.
We don’t really know who they are, and I wouldn’t really say their top level, competition, so um and little things that I heard about you already like before.
He fought kovalev him and his coach were talking about.
They don’t believe in sparring, which was very surprising to me.
They said they don’t believe in sparring to prepare for matches.
They just keep themselves in shape with pads and and running and doing other stuff.
So when he lost to when Anthony yardi lost to kovalev.
A couple of years ago, and then I heard about this fight happening, you know or he’s had a couple of fights since then um all wins, but against guys I’ve never heard of so.
You know he’s been on a little bit of winning streak knocking guys out, but I wasn’t sure how he was gon na fare out against the monster Archer better biev.
I I thought this was not gon na go more than five or six rounds um.
He actually lasted to the eighth.
Oh sorry, I forgot to mention talk about better, be of just to give his stats real, quick, Archer, better beer from Russia, but moved to Montreal he’s been living out of Montreal for probably the past 10 years now um.
He is 38 years old, 19 wins 19 Knockouts see that’s the only thing that the only thing, the only bad thing that that Archer better has not going for him is his age at 38 years old.
That’S definitely not.
You know in your physical prime, but his lifestyle he’s.
You know, he’s one of those, those athletes that he lives the lifestyle of a boxer.
He does not party.
He does not do nothing else, but train this guy.
He like and that’s the thing because he only fights maybe once a year, you know he’s not very active 19 fights.
When did he turn pro uh um, his professional debut was in 2013, he turned Pro in 2013 and he’s only got 19 fights so he’s.
You know he doesn’t fight at a fast rate and the other thing he doesn’t really speak good English.
He doesn’t really do a lot of interviews.
He’S not really he’s not on social media, so he’s not going to come up on your feed when you’re scrolling.
So a lot of people don’t know about this.
This monster from Russia named Archer better beer, but he is definitely a monster but, like I said, only the only bad thing that he has going for him is his age at 38 years old.
With that being said, he does not look like he’s slowing down at all.
If I like, if I didn’t research and look up that and realize that he was 38 years old, I would have never realized that from the way that he fights, because he does not.
He doesn’t, he didn’t, show any signs of uh.
He didn’t show any signs of being 38 years old, especially his fighting style.
Because again you know when you’re in your mid to late 30s, you know in real life – that’s not old, but in in in athlete’s age.
That’S that’s giving up there specifically when it comes to your like reflexes and reaction time.
You’Ll maintain your strength for a little bit longer, like you know, if you’re you know, you’ll maintain your strength till about your mid 50s or something like that, but the reflexes and reaction time that stuff slows down real quick when you’re in your mid to late 30s.
Um – and so that’s my only concern about Mr better be of all right man – I talked enough – I didn’t even give you guys a scorecard yet the official scorecard well, the fight was stopped in the eighth Realm um, the referee, the three judges at the time of The stoppage had it Jerome Ladd lades, had it 67-66 uh John B Lynn, had it 65 to 68 and Robin Taylor had it 66-67.
.
My official scorecard was 69 to 64 at the time of the stoppage, and we will go through.
I gave every round, except for round five to uh, to better be of, and we will go through it right now so round, one better be of in fight control.
He already caught him with one two.
What we already caught him with a one-two punches in in the first round but better, be simply had at uh um the ring control.
Sometimes you can watch a fight.
You know you see, one guy’s might be faster, one guy you know might be he could he he looks like he hits harder, and sometimes you watch a fight and you can just look and tell who’s in control like who’s who’s, in control of when we’re gon Na when we’re gon na fight, when we’re gon na take a break when we’re gon na move, you can just tell it better be of was in full control in that in uh.
In every fight that he’s in he’s about to say the first round he’s in full control like he usually is uh like I said, but he already caught him with one or two punches in that first round yeah and at the end of the fight better, be If he did have a few scars on his face, so he did get marked up a little bit.
He did get marked up a little bit uh second round.
The second round actually marked as a close round.
How many rounds are that Mark has close rounds.
I marked the second sixth seventh, oh three rounds, the second, the sixth and the seventh as close rounds.
So the second round, my notes for the second round yardi, is using his athleticism very good, better, be a constant pressure.
This guy is, in your face the whole time he’s not giving you a break like again.
Sometimes you see matches where guys are.
You know, there’s not too much action between them.
One guy’s waiting for the other guy and the other guy’s waiting for the other guy and they’re kind of just standing there not not really doing nothing, no better, be if he’s coming after you, the only thing that’s hesitating him is, if you go to make a Move he might like uh slow down instead of just straight coming at you, but like if you, if you don’t keep that, whether a jab or fake, if you don’t give him a reason to hesitate, he’s coming right at you with that pressure um.
Just in your face the whole time so that pressure that pressure alone, like that pressure alone, without him, throwing punches that pressure of you thinking that he’s about to do something that alone takes some of your energy.
Let alone takes some of your energy uh, so that was round two round three again for better beef pressure pressure pressure shot for shot.
You really want to do this.
That was my notes because in the third round he already is um his pride.
I think start to get to him about this guy coming after me, like no you’re, not just gon na run me down like I’m moving away from you, like I’m afraid, I’m gon na go toe-to-toe with you, which is not a good uh uh uh option when You’Re fighting a guy that has a 100 knockout ratio.
You already tried to go shot for shot with him and better, be he obviously he didn’t say this, but his body language was like okay yeah.
You really want to do this.
You really want to go shop for shot all right, let’s go, and it was pretty obvious that better be if’s punches were a lot more effective than yardi’s punches.
I don’t know what it is man, because some guys just have you know it’s just natural.
When you play sports some, you know you might play a sport, and people might be the same weight same height same age, but one person just fasted like they might be able to just run faster or they can jump higher.
Better BF simply has more strength than the average person at his weight and size.
That’S that’s just what it is this guy, because when you watch him fight like it’s not like he’s making a facial expression like sometimes you see a fight, and you know you get the still picture of them and you can see their facial expression they’re about to.
Like you can see it in their face, they’re about to put their their whole body weight into the punch to land it better be if he does not like he doesn’t look like he, he doesn’t load up on any punches.
It’S just constant.
It’S just constant boom boom and it’s what I like to call it’s kind of contradict.
It doesn’t make sense in regular English, but it makes sense in in boxing language single punch, combinations, right, yeah, single punching combinations, don’t go together, but what I mean is obviously a combination when you throw a quick series of punches together, the single punches is just one Boom but like he puts his, he turns his whole body weight into it.
When you throw a fast combination, a series of punches.
You can’t turn your hip and pivot your foot on every single punch, but when you throw single punches, you can turn and pivot on every single punch, because it’s just a single punch and that’s what better BF does.
He throws single punch combinations like he’s not gon na, come at you with a big flurry he’s just coming in with one like one punch per second, because he’s taking time to really turn his hips and put his body weight into it.
That’S why his his single punches are are more effective than every single person that he fights um.
Nothing, nothing fancy! Let me keep going through these things because I’ll get kind of Side Track round four yeah, exactly I’m just exactly what I was just about to talk about.
Oh, yes, the slides, my man, please, let’s get some pictures up um here we go here.
We go round.
Four, what I called Archer better be if I just talked about his fundamentals.
I call him.
I don’t know if you guys watch basketball but uh familiar with the Hall of Famer Tim Duncan.
His nickname was uh the you know the big fundamental or Mr fundamental.
That’S exactly what the Archer better be of is he’s nothing.
There’S nothing! Fancy about him! You’Re not gon na see his his highlight any any highlights of him doing any fancy footwork or doing any crazy punch combination from different angles, he’s just the straight up basic fundamental boxer, but he has mastered the fundamentals.
I tell all the people I train, like you know what you want to fight, you know with your hands down and – and you know, looking good making person miss.
You can do that, but you have to master the fundamentals first and then get to that other stuff Master the fundamentals first and then you get to get to that other stuff.
The fancy stuff Arthur Bear Just focuses on the fundamentals: clear fundamentals round: five around five.
My only notes for round five would is that it was clear for yardy.
You know better be the only sign that he’s that he shows that he’s ever hurt or anything like that, is that once in a while, if you catch him with a hard shot, he’ll back up like he’ll back up for a little bit, you know the crowds Start to yell, because they could kind of see you already it was in it was in UK too.
The crowd would start to yell because they could see.
Yardie was was making a a little bit of a comeback and, like I said that round five that was clear for Yardie.
That was clear for you already um, no question about that.
One and then round six Archer, Better B was like all right back back to me being in control again my nose for round six.
He already touched his eye.
Oh yes! Yes, yes round! Five! You already got a little bit of a cut or early in the six is either late in the fifth round or early in the sixth round.
You already got ta cut beside it, either beside right around his eye area, but it was leaking first time in his career.
That he’s been cut like that, and it was obviously it was obvious that he effect it was obvious that it affected him in a negative way, uh clearly showing signs that he’s getting affected by the power better be of getting touched still, because there was this.
First time getting cut in a fight, he didn’t know how to how to handle it or how to not show that it was affecting him.
You know what I’m saying like when you’re when you’re in a match.
I always tell people, you know you never want to show your opponent that you’re, tired or hurt or something is affecting you, because then you know that gives them more energy to come back at you.
He went like, like the code was on his side with his glove like it’s just a natural thing like if you have something on your face, just naturally like you’re gon na go like this to kind of wipe it off, so he with his glove.
He was just naturally like it’s not really going to do a thing because, because the blood’s still leaking, but he was, he was going like this, like literally every two seconds, he would go like this.
You fight boom boom boom and this white boom, like he honestly did, I’m not even exaggerating he probably did it about 30 times in round six, just touching his eye, just touching it touching it like.
So it was clearly there’s no questions asked.
It was clearly affecting him that that cut it wasn’t even leaking that much, but because it was the first time that it happened to him.
He didn’t know how to deal with it.
With that being said, I still marked the sixth round as a close round.
I marked number number six and number seven.
As close rounds round number seven was a toss-up.
I wrote toss-up uh, he already was working till he got on the ropes, yes, most dangerous spot.
You want to be against someone that has a 100 knockout ratio is trapped in against the ropes, especially in the corner, but I tell people all the time when I’m training them the boxers, you could move around.
If you want to stop like you, don’t have to constantly move the whole time.
If you want to stop to give yourself a break, do it in the center of the Ring, because in the center of the Ring, when you’re ready to move, you can go left.
You can go right, you can back up.
You can give different angles.
You can move any direction that you want to when you’re in the center.
But when you’re again, when you’re against the ropes you it’s easier for opponent to keep you there, you can go.
If you go left, I can just follow you left or follow your right you’re right there.
You can’t go backwards because the ropes are right there and if you come forward you’re going to walk, walk into one of my punches.
So if you want to take a break for a second or or just not take a break but not move, it’s not moving.
So much do that in the center of the Ring not against the ropes again, not against the ropes, especially against someone that has a 100 knockout ratio, foreign man um.
Now, I’m not sure if he put himself on the ropes because he was trying to show you know I could do this too, or just the the constant pressure just got to him.
I I believe it was just the constant pressure man just that constant pressure.
Um of like man, get off of me like give me a second to breathe, Arthur better BF is not giving you one second to breathe at all, yeah yeah.
We got some commas in the air top of the morning.
My man Dash you’re serious sir um Yeah man so better be if the monster so the fight the end, much respect to yardy’s Corner um.
This is a question that I get a lot from people uh when when they see a fight that has a questionable Stoppers or when the referee stops the fight and and the Fighter’s still standing there like wondering why why they stop the fight? Sometimes you got ta save a fighter from himself.
You got ta save a fighter from himself, because the saying your pride will get you killed literally in boxing.
That will happen if you’re, not careful.
So when Anthony got when, when uh, we already got dropped in that eighth round, when he got dropped in the eighth round, he got up, but like his body, language was not showing that he was ready to to fight back hard.
He got up and turned around and looked at his corner.
You don’t do that man like you’re, if you’re, if you want to continue fighting you get up and – and you show the body language, that you can continue fighting you don’t get up and and then turn to your corner and try to have a little quick conversation With your corner and then turn to the referee and be like yeah yeah, I’m ready to go and then no you he already was not showing the body language that that he was not showing the body language that he was ready to keep going.
So after you got up from the from the eight count, the referee, Let It Go for about 10 seconds and as soon as better be landed, one or two punches.
The ref came in and stopped it or sorry.
His coach, yardie’s coach came in and and stopped the fight rightfully so because he was clearly losing and there was no like he didn’t.
Even though I didn’t I I said, I marked the last two rounds as close rounds, but he was still taking some damage like they were close rounds because yardi was Landing on better BF, but better, be if punches were way more effective.
So if the fight were to continue, that was in the eighth round, if the fight would have continued for another four rounds of getting punched like that, you know those.
Those are the fights that um that uh that make your career end a little bit earlier from taking too much damage.
A perfect example that I just thought is right now: um, when Vargas fought Trinidad back in the late 90s, Fernando Vargas versus Phoenix Felix Trinidad Vargas said he got dropped like three or four times in that fight that fight right.
There kind of kind of um slow, not slow down the career, but it kind of he still fought for a few years after that, but he, if he didn’t take so much punishment in that Trinidad fight.
He said this himself.
He he probably could have lasted a lot longer because he took a lot of damage in that fight, and this is that and the reason why I bring that up is that’s that’s.
What could have happened here with Yari if his coach much respect to his coach for for stopping it when he did because a lot of coaches, a lot of coaches will follow, will follow the boxer’s advice when they say stuff like don’t throw in the towel? I want to go out on my shield.
That does not make sense.
That’S that’s just your pride talking.
It’S just your pride talking because again worst case scenario and I’m thinking it from a coach’s perspective.
We can keep the picks, keep going from a coaching perspective.
Don’T tell me, don’t throw in a towel, you stand there getting your head beat in like a bobble head and you think I’m just gon na stand here and watch because you said don’t throw in a towel and then what happens worst case scenario you pass away.
I go to your funeral to pay my respects and your whole family’s looking at me funny because I was the person that’s supposed to be taking care of you and what am I supposed to say? Well, hey, he told me not to throw in the towel, so I I just let him die.
I just let him take punches and die.
No you’re, not gon na put that on me.
So with that being said, you know if you’re a boxer that that that really stands on that like never throwing in the towel, then I’m not the coach for you, because you’re not going to be dying on my watch for your pride yeah, yeah yeah.
So, anyway, again, I brought that up to say, respect to Anthony yardi’s coaches for stepping up and stopping the fight when they did, because it would have just got worse for him um, and you got to think about the the Fighter’s future.
It was like outside of boxing, see that’s the problem, a lot of a lot of coaches they’re.
Only thinking about the paycheck that you’re gon na you’re gon na be paying them.
You know when you get when you fight and you give them a certain percentage of your paycheck.
That’S all that they’re thinking about! So, if you win this fight and get another bigger fight, they’re gon na get another bigger paycheck.
That’S what a lot of these coaches think like, I don’t think like that man, I I care Mo.
I care more about your personal life after fighting, then how much money you can make during the fight right, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right.
What else do we got? The rankings now, where do both guys, where do both Fighters go from here, so let me pull up the light heavyweight rankings here hold on hold on hold on a sec, all right, so the five it was really for about the five major belts that people are Looking for the ring, the WBA, WBC, ibf and WBO, the ring is vacant right now, as the champion, which I don’t understand, but Dimitri bival is the champion at WBO.
That’S the guy that beat Canelo and then the other three.
The other three belts belong to Archer, better BF um.
What’S next for Archer bed to be of, of course, we want to see Dimitri, bival versus Archer, better BF.
Now a lot of people are saying they might be predicting bival to win because they say he’s a better boxer because how he beat Canelo, but one small little factor that people might not know when they were both amateurs in Russia, Archer better even and Dimitri bivol.
The reason why bival never went to the Olympics is because Arthur better be have beat him in the amateurs too.
So don’t think that better that uh vivald is a better boxer.
You know I’m saying they.
They already proved that back in the day as when they were amateurs.
Obviously the pro game is a little bit different, but yeah yeah yeah.
So that is going to be interesting.
I hopefully, hopefully that fight happens later on this year or early next year.
Knowing you know better be if you only fights once once a year, so we’ll see when that happens, what other? What else can we see here at the light you see the light.
The light heavyweight division is not too stacked.
It is not too stacked.
There’S not too many guys that were legit uh that I can legit say would test better.
Be of I’m interested, I’m interested to seeing Joshua buazi.
I believe, he’s from the UK part uh competed in either the 2016 or 2020 Olympics either.
I think it was 2016.
Olympics Joshua bowatsi from the UK, very good boxer um, so I’m very interested interested to see how he is gon na how he is gon na um uh test up against uh against a better BF there’s really nobody else.
Man, uh there’s really nobody else that I could say would well.
You know I’m excited to see, face better BF because, like amongst themselves, all the rest of the guys that are in the top ten, they would be good matches against each other, but better beef is just that.
You know there’s levels to this, as they say in better bib.
Is this that a few levels above the rest of these guys because its fundamentals are so, are so perfect um? What is next for Anthony yardi Anthony? He can go right back into the mix, like I said, he’s he’s right back in the mix with all the rest of the guys in the top ten um that are that are kind of equal other than Joshua bawatzi.
All the rest of these guys are are kind of kind of equal to each other like um.
It’S light.
Heavy weight is not really a deep division.
It’S top heavy like real top heavy with ball a better B of Joe Smith, bawatzi Gilbert Ramirez.
You know I’m saying other than that after the top five Marcus Brown’s good too, but he got smashed by better being his last fight like really smashed but he’s a good Fighter.
Um Dominic bozell he’s good too.
But again, I would not pick any of these guys to to to be better, be of that’s just the different level that that he is on what else was I gon na get into? What else was I gon na get into my man, Eddie Barrington says: what’s he won bronze in 2016, WBA light heavyweight 2018-221 British light heavyweight title in 2019.
Exactly so, I’m talking about that’s exactly why I said that Joshua is probably the only guy uh in this division that uh that that that might be able to give better be of a good test for his for for those belts that that is going to be Interesting to see the first one is buval.
I want to see Beval but um Joshua.
Thank you very much for those stats.
Mr Barrington, I appreciate that I knew I knew he did well at the amateur, but I didn’t know those stats.
So, thank you for posting that um battle Jack is also at light heavyweight too, but he’s a little bit older.
Now Andre Darrell, Callum Smith.
These guys are all good.
You know these guys are all good, like d plus level Fighters better be it was a A plus.
So in that order, so I want to see better B versus bivol.
If not bivol, then Bugatti and that’s uh.
That’S that’s really it man the rest of these guys.
First, these guys are gon na have good fights against each other, but they’re gon na have to really step up their game plan to test better BF, yeah yeah and there you have it or is there but yeah, everybody’s sleeping where’s, all the rest of the comments And stuff like that man, you guys come on man, stop being lazy and I’m just joking.
