I am one of the co-founders and Chief Operating Officer for the Stafford Boxing Club Incorporated our non-profit organization, which is a yearly mentoring program for at-risk youth in the community.
So we will be able to teach financial literacy communication discipline decision making, as well as campaigning for a premium education.
These are the foundation for the Stafford Boxing Club, these 20 mentees in our program here at Panola Way elementary school 20 years from now staff for boxing mentees will be known across the world: hey! What’S going on you’re, trying to figure out how we last so long? Hey, what’s going on, you know we’re here, start of a brand new week, starting off as a great week, amazing for real amazing, baby man.
I know I’m over here.
I can’t even stay still listen.
We about to bring on a female boxer all the way from Lagos, Nigeria, Nigeria, yes, the Stafford show is in Nigeria for real, No Cap.
Man shout out to everybody in Nigeria.
Man do you want to introduce him, you know what man.
I hope I don’t do.
This again, but I was rehearsing her name but she’s also going to sing her full name.
So we have a female boxer from Lagos, Nigeria, [ Applause ].
I hope I didn’t say it for all, but she’s gon na correct me welcome to the Stafford show where she go right there.
Okay, so the first thing we want you to do is to say your full name correctly.
Okay, my name is, I think that was close.
Almost so, listen tell everybody, you know how.
How old are you how long you been in the sport of boxing uh? How do you feel about being a female boxer? Let her let her answer one question at a time, but the first question I want her to answer is: how is the culture? What is it like in Lagos, Nigeria, because I heard that’s like the culture Capital, where you’re at yeah, I’m in Lagos, um that the that’s the capital of Nigeria Lagos is the of Nigeria.
So it’s a big city tell us about it.
What’S going on like how is it there? Yeah Lagos is a rough Place very, very rough, a lot of stuff going on like stealing Robin.
So a lot of stuff like that, so Lagos is the most scariest City in Nigeria and is the most popular city in Nigeria is a good place to live.
It’S a good place to live yeah, but you have to be wise.
You have to be wise.
You want to live in Lagos, you have to be wise, be very careful, don’t be gentle too much.
You have to be harsh and gentle gotcha, because there’s a difference between the daytime and the night time, because there’s a lot going on in the night time.
No, no yeah, so most of the activity is in the daytime.
No, not yes, sometimes Day times, maybe in the cultism.
The courses during the cottage fights okay during the qualified.
Sometimes it’s happens in the daylight evening, like they can attack each other at any time.
Those consists like they kill each other, so it’s stuff like that, shooting during day daylight and nights anytime.
So let me ask you a question: how do you feel uh as a female boxer in Nigeria, where it’s a male dominant country and for you, as a female boxer? How do you see yourself making a name for yourself? Where actually is not? It’S not really easy.
Here in Nigeria, as the boxer as for me, like I’m, I’m a female boxer like in Nigeria yeah for a female boxer to be at the top, like you have to do some like, maybe dating a coach or like dating someone bigger in boxing.
If you don’t have any sponsors to sponsor you or no parents to do to sponsor you, maybe like you want to do something, and I have to date, maybe a coach or anyone that can help you to sponsor you.
You have to date them in behalf like and relationship with them like in Nigeria.
Yeah, we don’t have any sponsors, you have to pay to be on the show, no free, like maybe it’s only like two promotion here, that’s doing free show.
Um Fly kite boxing promotion and salad gloss promotion, um um, one upcoming boxing promotion in Nigeria yeah.
I think in the large the loud I don’t even know the name of the promotion, so those are the three promotions that sometimes they do a free show for boxers any other show in Nigeria.
You have to pay to be on that card like for me now.
I don’t have any supporters in Nigeria, no one will never support me like the first gym.
I was training before I was frustrated to come through, like I was bully by some girls in the gym so like they talk a lot of [ __ ] about me, like even the coach, the coach told me he doesn’t like me because there’s some stuff going On in the gym – and I don’t want to get involved in such things, so I have to find my way so I was frustrated to come through there when I turn pro, so I don’t have anyone.
I’Ve started like asking people money, like my um online on Facebook, asking people to sponsor me to support me.
I want to have a fight like they should send me anything together so that I can pay for my fight in Nigeria yeah.
But I got like I got a sponsor in UK.
They sponsor them with gloves another doors, boxing yeah and then in Eagle Box boxing jar.
So those are these two sponsors I got like they support me with anything, especially the evil box in Eagle Box, um yeah.
They support me in anything.
In fact, the coach, the owner of the CEO of the um Eagle Box, Eagle Box MGR, like he’s one of Anthony, Joshua, matsource coach, so I’m just like, let’s say, step daughter.
He loves me a lot.
He advised me like not to not to steal not to make a bad friends not like.
Maybe he did someone.
I don’t ask.
I shouldn’t date, other stuff like that in Nigeria.
Yeah for a female boxer is not easy, because if you don’t have a supporter, don’t have any manager you’ll be pushed to what you don’t want to do like song.
I just tell you like okay, I need to have sex with you.
If I can do this to you all those stuff like that, so I don’t want to get involved in all those stuff.
I know I can do it myself, because my dad doesn’t support me in boxing.
He doesn’t like boxing.
You want me to.
Furthermore, in my education, so I told him I’m not interested and going to school, I wan na be a boxer.
I know I can make.
I will make it in boxing because in Nigeria yeah, if you graduates from University to see a work, is very very difficult.
You see a joke, it’s very difficult here in Nigeria, so I don’t have any choice than to become a boxer.
I know I’m gon na make it in boxing inshallah, I’m sure so his ad in Nigeria is very very hard for boxers very, very hard.
So I’m just I’m trying my best as I am now I’m um I have, I got 10 fights.
I don’t have the manager, I don’t have a promoter.
I only got a sponsor that sponsored me with boxing kids and Orthodox boxing guy in UK and um ego box, the coach, the owner of Eagle box.
If I told him maybe I need something he gave me anything, I need it’s one of one of the best ones of then I got a brother in America and we met on Facebook.
Is my brother like he talked to me a lot, so I told him.
If I tell him, I need something he gave Iggy.
He normally give it to me like just like brother, and so I took him like my brother he’s in America.
He lives in America.
Um the problem here we are having Nigeria is that um, I think.
Last year um, I have a fight with mayor Ellis miyakilabi.
You know! No, no, I will know okay yeah, so I got a five guitar like two years ago.
I was offered the fight again.
Last year, so it’s very difficult to get the visa, so I couldn’t make the fight and I still want to fight her because she’s like she’s too much like the way she thought like she’s gon na knock me out she’s gon na beat me.
I told you I’m Gon na Knock Out around four she’s, not gon na last.
I’M gon na stop her.
She thought because she trained with um she trained with uh coach Calvin or whatever, whatever I don’t care, I’m 100 sure I’m gon na stop.
I’M Gon na Knock her I’m Gon na Knock Out.
So let me ask you a question like uh.
What do you do to train in Nigeria because I look at videos on social media and I see some of the most Innovative uh training methods that you Nigerians? Do to you know, equip yourself to be able to fight in the boxing ring.
So what do you do daily to prepare yourself to become an elite boxer um? We don’t have um a lot of boxing facilities here in Nigeria, so we don’t have a lot of boxing facilities here in Nigeria, so our coach gave us um some programs to do like skipping, jumping rope, um running some like um, some exercise like um, but a Lot, we do part work a lot, because we don’t have a lot of boxing facilities here and we train like in a rough place so like we don’t we don’t have a gym so describe how you train like because you know in the United States there are A lot of boxing gyms and like just listening to you, I see a a woman, an individual, that’s passionate about this Sport and is doing everything within her power to be able to fulfill her dream, and I kind of see myself in you like, Against All Odds.
You know what I mean just just having this.
This passion in this drive that I’m going to make it even when your father doesn’t support you as becoming a female boxer.
So what what is it that drives? You to? You know not give up on your dreams.
Yeah so give up on my dream.
I asked you: what is it about you that would not allow you to give up on your dreams? Um.
You know what and my dad doesn’t believe in boxing like I can make it in boxing, so I want to show him that um, the best way to make it in life, is like when someone is involved involved in sports, because in Nigeria yeah go to school.
You finish your own institution.
There’S no work, nothing! You end up doing something else, so I think I just want to make.
I want to show him that I can make it in boxing and I do tell him I.
I do tell my dad that after I make his inboxing my kids, my grandkids gon na become a boxer.
You know I go, I got a sister, he has aim.
She has a daughter, I’m already.
I’Ve already told my sister that his daughter gon na be a boxer when I travel out of the country I’m coming to pick the girl, because um a lot of people here think maybe being a boxer, is like you’ll, be bullying people outside like Crossing violence.
Fighting anyhow or something like that, that’s why so that’s why my dad don’t want me to be involved in boxing like when I started boxing um, my dad wife, like she don’t really want to support like she.
Just she don’t want me to fight boxing she’s scared.
Maybe I’m gon na, like bitter.
If you have an um argument like she started like telling my dad all those stupid stuff, what I don’t do like making a lie, a lot of lies to my dad, so I’m a kind of like I might I’m my dad’s favorite child.
So sometimes he listens to me sometimes so, and my dad’s favorite child listen to me sometimes like well.
I know I’m gon na make it.
I know not in Nigeria yet because, as a boxer, I don’t think someone can make it in Nigeria yeah, sir.
You have to like travel out of the country other stuff, like that, so I know I’m gon na make it in boxing.
I know when I travel out, I’m I’m just after my dream.
Of course, I got a lot of family on me, like my other sister depend on me.
My other study, my dad depends on me.
My junior brother depends on me.
My junior sister depend on me and I got it like a living sister.
I adopted she’s.
Also, a boxer I just like do it where she lives.
She lives in a ghetto, so I saw her boxing, so I have interest in now, so I have to adopt her as my little sister I know, like she’s been doing well.
She’S been doing she went for a tournament yesterday.
She got the best website, so it’s not been easy.
You know so I have to.
I want to make my family proud, there’s nothing that can stop me from boxing.
No, that’s why I’m staying away from guys like I don’t want that to disturb my career, to affect my life, to the extent that maybe I won’t have time for my this thing and I’ve chosen boxing as my career.
So I don’t think nothing can stop me now, so I just I just need to be like pushing pushing myself to get to what I’m what I’m doing now you’ve answered um this question somewhat already, but because anybody can be watching this talk show, and maybe it Will give you because we’re going to speak it into existence and give you an opportunity, tell us what sets you apart from the all-female boxers? What Makes You Different, what makes you to um open up someone’s eye and say you know what I like this young lady.
I like what it is that she’s saying and everything that she’s gone through, that she’s going through even when it comes to her family.
She still disciplined and keeping her eye on what it is that she wants.
So tell us what sets you, apart from all boxers, all female boxers like what say it again like what sets you apart, like what makes you different from all these other female boxers? What makes you different from from them yeah? What’S it making different from the female boxers in Nigeria is because M, like it presents of female boxer in Nigeria.
They all got managers and promoters.
They all got managers, I’m the only one who is like no manager, no promoter, nothing, I’m pushing myself like.
I know myself, I know I can do it myself, so I have to push it because I have a lot of things like to do with my in anything I do I put my family first, because especially my sister, I don’t want my sister to so far Like she’s, just like my mom to me, my sister is my mom she’s, my everything, so I need to provide for my family.
It’S like I’m different from the female boxers here, because I pray for my fights myself.
I don’t have the manager, I don’t have the promoter.
Sometimes I went for spamming like I have to do some stuff on social media like maybe to to talk to people help me.
I want to pay for a fight.
Do this.
For me, I wan na fight, but the rest female boxers in Nigeria.
They have some have promoter, they have manager.
Why? I don’t have anymore, I don’t have to ask for support and social media like okay.
I need money.
I’M gon na do this.
I wan na.
Do that ask the evil box see your big boss.
I need this.
I need that so I’m different from the like [ Music ], even my dad, my dad is not supporting me in boxing.
I don’t have any supporter at all in boxing and sometimes I do have some um disagreements with my coach, like if my Coach, if I have disagreement with my coach, like said, maybe you don’t want to train me, I do train myself for the fight.
I would train myself to advice and I will win the fight, so I’m different from the the Box yeah, I’m different from you, because I’m doing my things alone, no more nobody, no more support.
Even my not I don’t have any family, I don’t have any family that is supporting me.
No family, No Sisters, no brother, no one, I’m just like supporting myself like if I’m going for a fight.
None of my family will be there, but some boxers if they are going there to to fight you’re gon na see their mother, their father, like their brothers sisters, family cousin.
Why me No One’s Gon na Be there? I have 10 5 10 professional fights.
My dad.
Only come to two uh, he was forced to come to come watch the fight.
He was forced to come on the fight on that.
So, with with what you just said about not having the support from your family and not having the promoter not having a manager or whatnot how what it, how do you keep yourself motivated, yeah, motivated and mentally tough to to to not give up? I know one of the one of the reasons.
Why would be uh some of your family that you said because that they’re, depending on you, but besides that? What is it that just makes you not like not give up and just be sad and get depressed? But just keep pushing and punching through, I mean tell us, and I’m I’m doing this for my family, like I said especially my sister, I I don’t do my sister um I I lost my mom when I was like four years old so like I don’t really Have a lot of women around me, it’s only my sister, I got my sister, it’s only my sister, that’s like one of my favorite person is the world anything I’m doing in boxing I’m doing because of my sister.
I don’t want to give up because of her.
So their son, like um years ago, a year ago I was like, oh I’m, tired of being a boxer.
I don’t have anything I was just like inside inside the room.
Thinking like oh, my God, then my sister came in.
She was like what is wrong with me was like I didn’t.
I didn’t answer her.
Then she went to her room like I saw a mood like which was going so that day, for like three months, I didn’t throw it.
I was not in the gym like I was I still like.
Oh no, I’m gon na give up in boxing I’m gon na hang low, but I’m like I don’t sit down and started thinking like.
Oh, if I give up in boxing we’re just gon na take care of my sister he’s gon na take care of my brother who’s gon na take off my dad like a lot of insults from people outside.
Like I’m, a girl I would like bugs like my friend is like they were like hey like yeah.
Why boxing you are doing like male Sports, all those stuff like that, but I used to tell them like don’t worry like I don’t want my family to be proud of me, especially my dad.
So all you got is that I don’t have a mom, so my sister stand as my mom anything I’m doing, I’m just doing it because of mine, my family, my sister, my brother, my dad um, my adopted sister and my coach, because my coach is one of The best schools in my he’s one of the best coach in Nigeria, one of the best what he’s doing in Nigeria.
I don’t think, there’s other questions that can do it like you, like.
We have a lot of boxers in the gym some boxers, some of them.
Don’T ask where to live where to stay? You know no accommodation, nothing.
My coach accommodates a lot of boxers.
We accommodate them live like his life is one of the best wife.
I can say no, there are some wife they are jealous, as I’m a girl.
Now his wife should be jealous like hoe, she might be thinking.
Maybe the coach is dating me or something like that.
Like my summer coach, where I trained the way, my coach accommodates all most of the boxers in my former training, my former trainer, he can’t do that.
No, you can never do that, can’t accommodate no, but a lot of people.
My coach accommodates a lot of boxers.
Even though, when he saw some like small small guys in the streets like misbehaving misbehaving, my coach asked to call them like Oh Come here.
Don’T worry, I’m going to accommodate you, I’m gon na feed, you all the stuff but present as I’m talking like this, I’m in my coach place.
I came for evening training, I’m in my country, a lot of groceries in the room there, like they’re, just they’re.
My coach accommodates a lot of them, so I don’t want to give up.
I want to.
I want my family to be proud of me.
I want my coach should be proud of me, like my adopted sister, to be proud of me anyway.
I’M I want my country to be proud of me, so all my mom to be proud of me in heaven in heaven.
So I just like that’s it.
I just want to be proud of myself like I don’t I’m not become a world champion, so maybe I can do a lot of stuff from some like small, smart girls in the local area.
Maybe local area like smoking like um prostitutes, maybe I can help them through boxing.
They can become a somebody in life.
They can become somebody in future.
So that’s my like purpose like what I want to do in life.
I want to help people.
One of my mission in life is to help people, especially the young girls and the young boys in the streets.
Some of them are offered, so I think um the best way for me when I make it in life.
When I become a champion like I love my home, like boxing gym all those like most small girls, more boys in the streets like inviting them, no, that’s there’s some um area in Lagos, here, you’re gon na say, like 11 years old boy, smoking, like a lot Of things like rubbing, like all those domains like violence, like all those stuff, so my aim like is to become something in life, to make my family proud to make my country proud and have my own boxing Academy to help those small girls and small small boys In the local area, so so okay, so I understand we understand your mission and everything that you want to do.
So let me ask you this: if you were able to leave um where you’re at now to come and have a fighting event out of Nigeria, would you consider coming to the United States or would you go to UK, or would you just be open to do Both of them, if the opportunity was to come yeah, I’m open, I’m open to both of them, I’m open to anyone.
You know this Nigeria.
There is nothing Nigeria like a lot of stuff, like you, don’t have anything like yeah so like I have to.
I know that in Nigeria yeah, you can’t make it in Nigeria.
Boxing is not going far in Nigeria, we don’t have we need promoters.
We need managers, new sponsors in Nigeria to raise the Nigeria boxing standard because um a lot of talents in Nigeria.
We’Ve got a lot of talent, but no sponsor no supporters so like so that’s some good good boxers in Nigeria, like if you hear their story like they are retired, like just like.
Oh what the [ __ ] like when there’s no sponsor no promoter, no manager.
Some of the boxers gave up like a lot.
I know a lot of books that I’ve met in boxing like they already gave up because no sponsor and if they don’t work they need to work.
You know to eat to pay their abuse like Transportation, so so what what I’m sorry so once you get once you’re uh Champion once you become a champion so pretty much, I we understand what you want to do.
You want to help the kids.
You want to help the communities you want to help families.
You just want to help people all together.
So pretty much.
What you’re saying is, you would just use the sport of boxing and to help the community and people, but also bring some awareness or have like um like the boxers and managers and promoters you kind of want to get like Nigeria, where you stay at in Nigeria.
You kind of wanted to participate in it being like um like a boxing culture, culture, and boxing too, is that what you want to do like when I participate in Nigeria yeah.
I like boxing yeah, like you, said that you I’m probably speaking wrong.
Sorry about that.
What go ahead so? What you’re saying is we get that you want to help people you want to help the family? She said.
Oh, she said she wanted to be the best.
That’S what you basically saying: yeah yeah, like yeah like an ambassador of boxing, so you want to use the sport of boxing to help the community and the children, because you said the guys are out there smoking already 11 years old.
So, are you going to use the sport of boxing to help the community yeah? That’S my that’s my life.
My mission.
I have the mission of dots like I really want to do.
That kind of sounds like what we’re doing.
You know, I’m I’m sitting here and I’m listening to you, but I’m also looking at you right and I’m saying to myself like um.
First of all, how old are you 21.
yeah? It’S a good age, yeah amazing age.
It’S a good age, but I’m I’m I’m like I’m just like just amazed like your mother, passed away.
When you was four your father, not supportive of you, you doing it for your sister.
You want to be an inspiration to the girls in Nigeria.
You want to be an ambassador for the sport of boxing in Nigeria and you want to do this for your country.
Do you understand like what you’re saying like how significant and amazing that is yeah? And you know what and – and I see that you are so you willing to give your life for this – are you willing to Die For This? What did you say? Are you willing to die to become a boxer? If this is what you want to do? Will you give your life to it? Yes, this is what I’m gon na do like.
This is my career.
I choose it at my career already this one I’m gon na, do she doesn’t have a plan B.
She just has that plan a and that’s why I could see.
That’S why I was able to ask her the questions, because I saw that your mind was just going like this yeah.
I kind of see myself in her life yeah and she’s real, serious, too light and positive and motive.
We may be miles away from each other, but I want you to know that me and you are similar in a lot of ways.
I never had a father.
I grew up in foster homes been in group homes.
I’Ve been out there in the streets.
I have a dream, I’m fighting it on so many levels, I’m in the United States courts of appeal.
No one helped me.
I was willing to give my life I’m.
I am willing to give my life for this.
My family didn’t understand, friends talked about me and I’m just so proud to see someone like you who has that type of passion and commitment to to go about pursuing your dreams, no matter what, and for that they you, you know what we got a jump rope.
We got some uh, we got jump rope, we got uh, we got raps.
So what else is the boxing gloves? Do you use 14 14 ounces? Do we have 14? I don’t think we have.
No.
We got 12.
.
12.
.
Okay.
Okay, I tell you what we’re gon na.
Do we gon na do this, for you so number one we’re gon na.
Send you a band like this here it goes Stafford boxing and then it got spiritual gloves right.
So spiritual gloves are the gloves that are in your mind and you use these spiritual gloves when you face opposition when You Face Hard Times, guess what you use.
You use your wait.
Man yeah! Sorry about that.
You use your spiritual gloves.
So that’s what we’re gon na send you we’re gon na.
Send you one of these then thank you, then we’re gon na send you um jump rope.
We’Re gon na.
Send you a jump, rope yeah! Thank you I’ll see you in jump rope uh.
We have Center Arab, oh some raps boxing wraps.
Thank you.
Okay! Then we’re gon na send you what else do we have? We got this box.
Oh we’re gon na.
Send you some boxing gloves.
Okay, we’re gon na see we’re gon na just give her the pink ones.
Um well, uh.
First of all ask her what color? What color do we have? I know it’s just the paint, it’s just the pink, that’s the 12 yeah, it’s just the pink.
I think we have the green so between either the pink or green.
So so I think we have like pink or green so, which color? Do you want pink? Okay, it’s yours! It’S yours! I I think the pink is a strap yeah.
I think the pink is a strap they’re, not the laced up, no they’re, not lace-up, but that’s, okay, the pink you you, okay with the strap all right, it’s okay, all right! So I so let me see we’re gon na.
Send you rap we’re gon na.
Send you boxing gloves we’re gon na, send you jump rope, we’re gon na see you a band we’re gon na give you a sticker.
Let’S send her a shirt.
We’Re gon na give you a shirt we’ll give her one of the um, the cut off sure.
So real, quick female, so we’ll find out okay.
So so what we’re gon na do is we’re gon na sing.
You you a uh! So after we get off air, I want you to send my wife, your address, so what size you wear medium.
Oh perfect! All right, they both wear medium, we’re gon na sing.
You oh we’re gon na sing you some socks.
Okay, we gon na, send you you know what I have to stop him real quick, because I don’t want to start crying because I’m getting a little emotional and I have to tell you why I know when I had reached out to you.
I made a decision.
Real quick right to just have you on the talking show the Stafford show, and I don’t make quick decisions like that, but I knew it was the right decision.
That was number one number two.
We believe in giving people, as long as where God led to give people opportunities, and I am so happy so honored so glad to have you on our talking show you are a strong, beautiful, um discipline.
Just on point woman, daughter sister, I don’t know if I already said female woman and all that you are a very strong, mentally spiritually and physically young lady, and this is going to be shown all around the world and we pray that people on here.
Give you an opportunity, because what you said about this is what you want to do.
What you’re going through what you’re experiencing already is letting everybody know that you are there and that there is no there’s only a plan, a there is no plan B and we pray that they see you and they want to help and they want and that they Will reach out to you and that you will the the floodgates of Heaven is going to be opened upon you and you will get opportunities after opportunities.
You will get sponsors, but most definitely we pray that nobody takes advantage of you and that’s why I want you to contact us stay connected stay connected to us before you make any type of decision, because, unfortunately, when people see and know that you’re in a certain Situation, they will use that as you being desperate and will take advantage of you and that’s something that we do not want to have to happen to you.
So I’m telling you contact us before you make it once you make any type of decision.
We need to see we need to see some paperwork yeah.
We need to see right, yeah, see if, if they’re sending you some type of paperwork, let us look at it.
We need to see some type of paperwork and let me tell you something: we don’t want anything from you.
The only thing we want from you is that champion.
Yes, because we want to see you hold that w b c, no man, we want to see the champion, we want to be there and we want to say: listen, I’m going to tell you this straight up.
The reason why I move to to do what I said that I was going to do is because of your discipline in your character in your character.
When you said that I’m not, I don’t want to deal with the boys, I’m focused.
It takes a special type of particularly at 21.
You have a lot of hormones and all that other type stuff.
As a female.
You know what I’m saying your mind going, but you discipline to put those feelings in check to focus on the big picture and that’s when the Holy Spirit spoke to me.
We’Re, like hey man, do that for her go in your um, Hey, listen, you know what and you know what listen we’re gon na send you a polo shirt.
Man.
Listen we fit to go in the inventory for her.
Okay, hey we finna, go hey you better! Get it we should get her a long sleeve too.
So when it does get loud, do it? Does it get cold there? Is it cold in Nigeria? No, it’s hot hot! Oh okay! Well, I don’t know.
I didn’t know if sometimes like at this at night time.
You know how, at night time it might get like cooler like a little nippy.
Sorry, Hey! Listen when we send this stuff to you, don’t let nobody wear it! It’S your stuff matter of fact take a picture in it and send it to me we’re gon na post.
It hey real talk and then what we also gon na do is we’re gon na.
Send you some videos, so we want you to start because we look at one thing and you look at another, but together we can work together to help you fulfill your dream.
Your dream is to be a champion and I want to be like man damn.
That’S us, Texas, and you know what I’m so excited, I’m telling you I’m so excited because man, I just see God move man, you don’t understand, you really don’t understand.
You don’t understand who you talking to you really don’t, and you know what the fact that no one in Nigeria would give you an opportunity to be on a podcast show or anything like that.
Now you got material now you can show everybody around now.
You can show this to your daddy, say: daddy, look, I’m known in America now Atlanta, Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia and guess what Dad yeah and look how God moved.
Because now you’re on the show we had an opportunity to talk.
We uh, we had an opportunity to talk to one another, and so now you know what we’re doing we’re gon na lace you up with this look.
What Eric did Hey, listen and listen.
Let me tell you what happened the uh, the host for the Stafford show.
He sent the link to help you raise funds, so you send this link you’ve seen this video to everybody, I’m talking about, we giving you a platform.
Now you got to use this platform to get your story out to people so that people can support you.
We gon na support you now you got to do your part, you get what I’m saying yeah and I am so proud of you man.
I really am so listen.
What what’s a nickname? Can we call you because I ain’t gon na lie, I’m I’m a country dude, I’m from the US and it’s just hard.
It’S it’s hard to you know pronounce.
You know the Nigerian name, I’m just being honest, so I don’t want to show no disrespect.
So just tell me how I mean: what’s a what’s a nickname, Lady B, you say what Lady B Lady Lady B yeah: let’s go, let’s go.
Let’S go lady b, Hey, listen, yeah man! So hey! So what’s your uh fight name, so you got man what what’s? What’S your name again, that’s the only way that I could say it.
Hey look at here, yeah, it’s tough! For me.
I ain’t gon na lie.
Let It Be check this out, do what we gon na do.
We are going to promote this video we gon na.
Put it on all social media platforms, we want to get the word out there make sure you share it too, on all your social media platforms and listen.
This is a step for you.
You understand because the fighters that your coach uh uh mentors they they not on the parking, show you on the podcast too.
So now you got something that can inspire you, like man, Lord you’re, really looking out for me, because out of the blue I reached out to Sheila.
No, I actually reached out to her.
Oh you reached out to her yeah.
What made you reach out to her.
Well, she was um Chief’s friends on Facebook, with Coach Kenny Ellis, so I sent her Mia Ellis uh podcast, oh okay.
She sent me a message back and so remember when I told you what she said: oh okay, yeah, yeah, okay, okay, so, oh okay, so you’re the one that says that you will beat Mia Ellis that what you said: okay, all right, yeah, all right! Listen! I didn’t want to put it out there because you know she’s, lady uh.
She kill a b.
She got DB, so I’m just saying so: okay, lady b, hey man, you such you have such a beautiful spirit and she’s.
Very humble, too she’s humble, Hey, listen man! Seriously we’re gon na work with you, man yeah.
We really don’t work with you, man, I feel God more me too.
I do too, I do too yeah and you don’t ever know you never know you never know.
Oh, let me ask what’s the process because I don’t know, I know you have to have a have um being able to come to the United States.
Um, like I haven’t we’ll, say devices I think and like it’s cost like maybe two thousand dollars a thousand American dollars or two thousand your money, no two thousand American dollars to run the stuff.
You know and that’s a big a lot of big money in Nigeria.
Yeah, I don’t have so like.
I tell you what man the little money I’ll tell you, what you just continue to work, just work with what you got put yourself in a position and when that opportunity comes it’s gon na manifest itself.
I promise you that you just keep focused leave them.
Boys alone stay focused, stay focused, yeah like, and then you know what baby like with her with Lady B, it’s like foreign.
I know like in the United States like when me and you face what we face.
Yeah, that’s and and what I face yeah now, what you face is is different yeah but but like with her, I I can.
I can identify with that yeah to the point that man she talking about doing this for her country, see that’s the only difference.
Yeah between me and her, because in the United States we just don’t have that type of yeah uh reverence for our country, even though the country gives us a lot of opportunities right, but with her she’s like I want to make my country proud of me.
So she’s fighting with a little bit extra motivation.
It’S not only because of her sister to show her dad that hey, I told you that I was gon na make it.
She remind me of uh Bud Crawford because his mother said that he wasn’t gon na.
Be.
Oh yeah, yeah again and the mother didn’t believe in him yeah, so I am so I never felt like this before, but I could tell the difference with you.
That’S why I was looking I told demeanor like I.
I don’t.
I can’t really explain it.
Lady b, but talking to you number one, it’s really refreshing it’s refreshing number two is the fact that I’m seeing God like expand our brand in Lagos.
Nigeria we’ve never been to Nigeria, but we met you so that you can be an extension of what our vision is.
So our vision aligns with your vision, it’s in the sport of boxing and had not.
We listened to what God told us to do.
We would never had an opportunity to have a platform to invite you on to get your story out, so I just want you to be encouraged.
I want you to stay in contact with us.
We gon na send you this care package.
I want you to practice day and night.
I want you, man, listen, listen, I believe in you, I believe in you later.
We both do.
I believe in you and one thing about me: I’m not gon na lie to you.
I’M gon na be honest with you.
If I say I can do something, I do it if I can’t, I can’t, I believe in character, I believe in discipline, loyalty and I believe in loyalty.
Do you possess those things I think she’s coming so hard to you? That’S.
Why and probably the sound is a little uh.
Hesitant, Hey, listen! Do I sound real country, though no man you you are.
You are truly a uh she’s, a legend in the making you’re a legend you’re a champion, and you know what our slogan is.
Stanford boxing the making of Champions – that’s our that’s our logo, I mean that’s our slogan, the making of Champions and guess what lady b you the champion not only a champion but you’re a world champion, and I’m telling you man you 21 years old, yeah yeah.
You had a great age man, so did you get up and run every day, no Monday, Wednesday and Saturday? How many miles do you run like um, 40 minutes? Oh hey! We got ta get that up.
Sometimes we got to get that up.
Yeah.
We got to get that up, so what do you eat like to you know what type of diet do you eat, but, like I just eat anything that comes to my mind, like I eat anything I feel like eating like, so you go to the market in Your community and you get fish and fruits and all that type of stuff, or can you cook yeah, you can cook yeah.
So what’s your favorite dish, um rice, stew and chicken rice stew, with chicken with chicken rice food with chicken? So let me ask you a question: do you kill the chicken, then you cook it? No, no! So you go to the to the supermarket or on the side of the streets.
I don’t know the outside of the streets.
Wow wow, wow, man, yo, so listen! This might be a relationship right here so outside of boxing.
What else inspires you a sign of book set? What’S up, it’s fun, nothing! Nothing! Yeah! Did you have any other Hobbies or anything like all these um super tennis, oh tennis, tennis read.
Do you like to read books yeah? I, like I love reading story books.
I like listening to music like watching documentaries.
Okay, we have one of our supporters on and his name is Eddie and he said what is your favorite book yeah and what is your favorite fighter boxer? Who was your favorite boxer, my silver books? I learned Anthony Joshua and Natasha Jonas, oh wow.
That’S that’s shocking! So, what’s your favorite book, I like it like I like reading um, like documentary about like culture uh, you know what babe we’re gon na we’re gon na we’re gon na send her a book uh.
We have to look through them.
First yeah.
We got to look because I’m still because I’m because I’m well, you know we have two uh two Mike Tyson books, so we’ll send her the paperback all right.
I want to send her the paperback okay, that’s fine! Do you like Mike Tyson monetizing yeah? Oh here’s! Another question Eddie asked: he said if you could get signed by any promoter in the world who would it be? That’S a good question and at the end, how did I know you were gon na say that Eddie Hearn to me, I’m gon na be honest with you.
I think Eddie Hearn is all right.
I do, I think, he’s all right.
I just think he gets so much slack because of the United States, because it’s the United States when he came and he had that fight for Alicia Baumgartner yeah yeah.
I do okay, oh my question and then it’s because it’s almost about that time when you who would you fight who would be a female boxer that you would want to get into the ring with? I saw the note yeah.
If you had the opportunity, why would she be like your top? Your top pick like um, like um, like I think, um two last last year, when we we only like only like stream call like this.
So she said the statement like like I’m with big.
I drink with big people like because you know she throwing this like javonta Davis to train a good day, so also the training training in a big gym or training with the champion doesn’t mean that doesn’t mean that you’re a champion [ Music, ] um.
I thought that training with the Champions training in the best gym doesn’t mean that you’re a champion.
If I know if I want to know that you’re a champion, you should get into the ring with me, I see your skills.
The way you punch.
That’S when I can accept you as a champion, but for now no [ Music, ], [ Applause ].
We gon na send you this clip, let it be from Nigeria and say she want all the smoke, no cappuccino.
She said that you may train in the big gym you may train with Javonte Davis, but that don’t make you a champion.
She wan na test them skills.
She says she want to test them skills and she believed she got what it takes to defeat you in that boxing ring, even though she don’t have the look, The luxuries that you have no cap, that what she said is that what you said, lady yeah, exactly Yeah, that’s what I mean.
Okay and you know what she said: she’s staying on business too, yup that part, but man, you know what as much as you appreciate us yeah.
We appreciate you.
We appreciate you more than you know like I am so humble.
Yes, you know to actually I don’t know nobody from Lagos, Nigeria you’re the only person I know so we met a new contact now and we’re going to stay in contact for real and when we get off the air, I want you to uh, send my wife.
Your address your address, wear a medium and you say you wear a medium.
Did you want to send her any shorts? Yeah, I’m sending some shorts, so you wear.
So if you wear a medium shirt, that means you wear medium and shorts too correct yeah.
So man, listen, hey, hey man, we could have seen you the brand.
Now I’m telling you right now we could have sent it to you, I’m fixing to send it to you.
Hey we’re gon na put you in the game and see see you the type of person that would be so grateful for what we’re going to send to you that it will inspire you to fulfill your dreams, and it’s just a small piece of us, contributing to Your your mission, your goal, and we want to be a part of your success we want to.
We want you to me every checkpoint up into your goal.
We want to walk with you, so it’s kind of like I guess, she’s, just we just we’re family now yeah.
We found you locked in now you’re part of the Stafford.
Now you did you hey, it is what it is we.
It happened like that.
So now you can use this this video this.

The staffer boxing brand period, you’re part of the Stafford, show the first person from Lagos, Nigeria matter of fact, from Africa, you’re from the motherland and we’re gon na ride with you, man, so uh before we get off air.

Every time we get some some gears, some merchandise, I’m sending you some you’re gon na – be hey they’re, gon na be like who is the and oh, this right here, glows in the dark, so all the stuff glows in the dark.
Now you you got ta hold on to it now because they’re trying to take it away from you, but I know you ain’t gon na.
Let nobody take your gear away from you.
Is you No? No One’s Gon na think you’re dead? Okay, that’s what that’s! What’S gon na happen, but no one, no one’s done to do it from anymore.
I mean I’m proud of you, Lady B, you hear me tell the viewer all your social media platforms, where people can uh contact you reach out, follow you, okay, um on Facebook, then on Instagram same name same on Twitter.
