Ring of Brotherhood Foundation and WBC to join forces To Aid Athletes in need

Just a year after its official launch, the Ring of Brotherhood foundation is pleased to announce its most significant alliance to date, as it is working on an alliance with the World Boxing Council (WBC) to continue its mission to aid athletes during and after their careers.

“The WBC has been closely monitoring the formation and development of Ring of Brotherhood and has witnessed the passion and dedication they have to make a difference and serve those who deserve an opportunity to improve their quality of life,” said Mauricio Sulaiman, President of the WBC and one of the most influential figures in the sport of boxing.

For years, Mauricio has continued to embrace the work of his father, the late Jose Sulaiman, by placing the health and safety of all boxers first while also aiding those in need after their time in the ring is over. Now by working on an alliance with the Ring of Brotherhood, that work can be taken to new levels.

“It is my passion to continue the legacy of my father, Jose Sulaiman, with the same values, principles, goals and objectives to always look for ways to make boxing safer and better for the boxers,” said Mauricio. “This alliance could be a game changer. We view it as the planting of a tree which will provide a shadow of comfort to those in need.”

Created in 2021 during the recent COVID-19 pandemic by Lisa McClellan, Pastor Kevin Person, Margie Ellis, William Zimmerman and their team, the Ring of Brotherhood is in the process of releasing documentary features, has created a website, social media presence and a non-profit foundation, and has also implemented a Clinical Research Committee (CRC) on brain health with the hopes of creating a life after sports for those who gave so much of themselves to entertain fans around the globe.

“The idea is for the WBC to offer its support to the Ring of Brotherhood through its global platform in a variety of fields, such as the medical committee, PR and media, the champions committee, and fundraising efforts,” said Sulaiman.

This October, the Ring of Brotherhood will hold its first gala event at the Regency Event Center in Clovis, California, on Saturday, October 28, preceded by the Sports and Brain Health symposium on Friday, October 27. More information on both events is forthcoming.
