(Toronto) — Talkin’ Fight Launches Happy To Meet. Adding to its growing library of illustrious boxing content, bringing to light the many great stories of boxers past and present, Talkin’ Fight is proud to announce it is producing a limited series featuring nine boxers. Written and hosted by Craig Wigley, the series is called Happy To Meet and one episode will be streamed each week during November and December 2021.
The nine worthy fighters profiled include: Jack Dempsey, Gary Mason, Jack Johnson, Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Robinson, Billy Rafferty, Rocky Marciano, Gene Gunther and Manny Pacquiao.
“These men were all pillars in their communities and respected men of merit and ability within the ranks of boxing,” says Talkin’ Fight co-founder Graeme Boyce. “They all stood on their principles, and we thought we’d pay tribute to these trailblazers from among the modern era of boxers.”
Discussions remain underway for a possible tenth and final episode, a bonus episode, with a musical twist featuring multi-talented Henry W. Armstrong who was not only an amateur American boxer, but also a producer, singer, pianist and Tin Pan Alley composer, writing the barbershop hit “Sweet Adeline” with lyrics added by Richard Gerard, made famous more recently on The Simpsons episode “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet”, which features The Be Sharps singing the song when Barney Gumble becomes a new member of the group.
Talkin’ Fight continues to increase the number of its shows, spanning many topics and personalities. Based in Toronto and expanding, the company remains in discussions with numerous companies who are producing live events and seeking a livestreaming broadcast partner.
