[, Music, ] foreign [, Music, ] boxing fans around the world.
Thank you for joining me very much here on talk and fight for the episode of boxing news today and we’re going to start off with a few words, courtesy of John Fury, the father of Tyson Fury, the heavyweight champ in one particular uh division.
Anyway, uh.
We won’t get into that right now and we’re not talking about politics, we’re talking about Deontay Wilder.
I have said, as many of you know, time and time again, if Deontay Wilder gets hit in the head one more time he will probably be not only be knocked out, but not out of this world.
Those words that I said and I’ve said quite often have obviously now seen the light of day over in the United Kingdom, because, according to Tyson Fury’s Father John Wilder left their Trilogy with a cracked skull that cracked, like an egg when the American was knocked out.
I don’t need to regurgitate all the news with respect to their trilogy, but it was interesting to hear what John Fury had to say specifically about the medical condition facing Deontay Wilder following that trilogy, especially the last fight.
It’S been reported now that Wilder remained an option for Fury to fight over at Wembley if the USIC fight didn’t happen.
But as we now know that Wilder’s trying to chase down Andy Ruiz Jr, which we’ll get into in a second with a rather ludicrous offer.
But nonetheless, uh Wilder is looking for a fight, but let’s have a look at what John Fury has to say about um, poor old Deontay Wilder, who should not be fighting.
Remember if I’m not mistaken, Deontay Wilder got into this uh boxing scenario in the first place.
Simply to pay for his medical bills for his child and now he’s facing some pretty serious issues.
If you ask me uh knowing something about the brain, shall we say and all boxing fans out there should be aware that it is a dangerous sport and not just accents, but calamities.
Fatal calamities do happen um anyway, so as [ Music ].
As I move forward through this article, it’s it’s it’s it’s discouraging to hear what that John has to say.
He in fact, fears for Wilder, as he says, Tyson significantly damaged The Five-Year reigning WBC Title holder, um, I’m worried about him fighting Wilder because I’m afraid of him killing Wilder.
I said John while there’s got a crack skull.
His skull is cracked like a neck.
That kind of thing can’t be repaired, so if Tyson hits him again, he could kill him.
So I’ve said: unless you want a funeral on your hands and the death of Deontay Wilder, keep from him he’s beaten him three times and masking him each time he beat him in the first fight, which was scored a draw when he just lost eight stone.
He’D been out of the ring for three years: he poses no threat.
The only danger he poses is Tyson killing him that danger and smoke.
We don’t want.
Let him go.
Go faff about these blokes.
He can hit once they’ll lay on the floor and carry on he’s no good to Tyson, though I don’t want him.
I don’t want to go to my grave, knowing my son killed somebody concluded Fury, so I, if that uh and Andy Ruiz Wilder happens if Ruiz hits him once in the head.
The same thing might happen as well: uh, but nonetheless uh Mauritius, Holman, has actually said he will reorder the fight immediately if uh Ruiz uh be.
If sorry, if Wilder beats Ruiz, uh WBC.
President maritzu Solomon has said he will reorder the fight between Wilder and fury to be slated for 2024.
.
Oh incredible, if he does now speaking of Tyson Fury, let’s move on to somewhat of a comic or comedic reprieve from that prior story, because, as we all know, there was some footage of Auntie and Joshua pounding away on a mattress after some sparring to which that Particular footage can be Detention of Tyson Fury, who didn’t take a great amount of time in quipping on social media, and I quote proper sausage.
As we all know, Joshua has been hard to work in Texas.
Under the watchful I have new head trainer, Derek James ahead of his ring, return and attempted to lighten the load of his fists by hitting a mattress with several combinations and, as I say, uh Tyson didn’t take too long to to respond to that particular flurry of Activity, let’s move along um onto the Andy Ruiz Saga.
As we all know, um Deontay Wilder in his Camp uh through Malik Scott, basically is offered a 70 30 split to which Andy Ruiz senior, both the father and manager of Andrews Jr, accused Wilder of attempting to avoid negotiating with him and to go straight for his Son and this plan is backfired as Ruiz senior is now throwing a a spanner, obviously an English story, courtesy of World Boxing news.
net into the works that could blow the whole event off the boxing map, Ruiz blasted with others tactics and said the Alabama slamma needs to Get real to secure a battle of the two former champions he said.
What happens is that while there is a liar Wilder and his trainer Malik Scott want Annie to accept a ridiculous amount of money, but Andy is not a random name.
Andy is a former world champion the first Mexican heavyweight world champion in history a former Champion.
He has made history while the reportedly put a 30 contract on the table for the Pay-Per-View event that would be broadcast on Showtime and potentially stage in Los Angeles or Las Vegas uh.
Now you got ta say here: Wilder does recognize the importance of an American audience, especially when it comes to pay-per-view money, but uh Ruiz senior, continued they’re, not offering a fair split.
The only thing we’re asking for is 50 50.
we’re not asking for anything else.
50.
50 and we’re ready to fight Wilder we’ll give them a good beating and Wilder will suffer the same beating as Joshua in 2019.
, so that does not actually round out this morning’s show regarding the heavyweights, because ESPN has commented quite frankly on their website um.
That Wilder has said Ruiz doesn’t deserve parity.
So, given the massive difference, this fight doesn’t look likely at all.
Rui senior has said that fighting even on financial terms is a deal breaker for his son, a star boxer in his own right who scored a technical knockout win over Joshua uh to win three Heavyweight World titles.
But neither wild or norways currently hold a title, but the matchup would be explosive and feature two big name: heavyweights with tremendous punching power and Wilder, as the ESPN says, is the biggest puncher in all of boxing.
But Ruiz is a feared puncher as well Ruiz knocked down Luis Ortiz three times in the unanimous decision victory in September and has displayed countless times.
He owns one of the best chins in boxing the Wilder Ruiz fight has been on and off for over a year and if it happens, it’d be one of the most anticipated events of the 2023 calendar.
It would be a shame, though, if the fight did materialize, especially with wilder set to turn 38 later this year.
He had another reason he should consider retiring, but while there appears to have bigger fish to fry as he continues to talk a potential super fight against Joshua in December in Saudi Arabia, and that’s courtesy for our good buddy Mike Coppinger over at ESPN.
Now, speaking of British heavyweights, I must mention one name so that you all have heard it here.
First, on talking fight, delicious Ori, there you go he’s in the super heavyweight division and uh hopes will be high.
That delicious Ori can follow in the footsteps of Anthony Joshua and win Super heavyweight gold for the team GB at the Olympic Games next year, Ori the new olymp.
Sorry, the new European games Champion says his journey will be slightly different but believes he can go all the way at Paris, 2024.
um at that tournament.
In Poland last he beat up uh five top International Super Heavies and consecutive bells to take the gold medal.
It will raise hopes that he can become the first British super heavyweight to win the gold since Joshua at London back in 2012.
While I was 11 years ago now.
For me, I’ve got a slightly different Journey.
He said I’ll still follow in Joshua’s footsteps, but I’ve got a selective Journey, I’m on this journey of not being pushed too quickly, even though I’m a little bit as natural for super heavyweight to be pushed, I’m taking my time a little bit more rather than rushing, He wants to develop himself as a fighter and the Europeans last week were invaluable.
For that, the more fights I had, the more confident I got the more relaxed I got the ring one of the biggest things I found out about myself last five fights I had, and I know it sounds obvious, but the more relaxed I am in the ring.
The better I perform the more shots, I can see the better, I can react to shots and it just flows so much better being able to cope with that high pressure of intensity constantly for nine minutes.
If you nail that you can go all the way – and I feel like last week, I was able to I mean – tends to carry that on to Paris in 2024.
The Olympic Games.
Now, let’s bring us back to the uh other side of the pond and focus on, as I said earlier, the importance of pay-per-view and the American audience with respect to pay-per-view.
And this is in regard to Jared Anderson and his recent Victory and the importance to the American audience of An American potential champ topping the ranks of the heavyweight division are mainly British and European Fighters, but Jared is certainly posing a threat.
This article courtesy of boxing scene.
com, basically says no matter the trainer, the amateur pedigree ticket sales or the indications of physical Talent.
Every New Prospect is a risk investment, even when the most wise in the boxing minds think they know they don’t really know until some critical things happen, especially at heavyweight, especially one critical thing.
What happens when they get tagged? Jared Anderson has Buzz, as perhaps the best American heavyweight hopeful right now, even if one wouldn’t Mark him the brightest light among all Rising talents in the division – that’s probably uzbeki Olympic gold, medalist bakhadir jalalov, recently signed the top rank.
I believe U.
S prospects carry potential to build into the lucrative U.
S pay-per-view Market Fighters can get rich in lots of places, especially with Saudi money in the game, but the most consistent, big money pots still reside.
Stateside on Saturday Anderson passed his latest test with a lopside decision over former Titleist Charles Martin.
It was entertaining enough Affair that cab Anderson’s unbeaten Mark intact with a knockdown in the third round as cushion it also gave them signs of what happens when Anderson gets tagged.
The verdict so far so good following the knockdown Martin regroup got hands in trouble in the fifth and kept the younger man, honest all night Anderson used his jab combinations and pressure to stay they winning most of the rounds, but Martin kept Landing just enough to add Drama the drama played out until the closing seconds of the 10th and final round when Martin buzzed Anderson.
Again it was enough for a win and more enough to have something to learn from for for Martin.
The result was probably the most.
It could be without a win Martin’s efforts against Luis Ortiz and then again Saturday night are the swords like given his career, a deeper respect than it had when he dismissed Auntie Josh after briefly holding a belt, and it’s still still green.
It showed on Saturday his defense is messy, he pulls straight back and he overextends on a lot of punches, which will open him to even harder counters in the future.
Those are all things he can work on and improve, and it sounds a good jab.
Speeding is a fluid puncher.
This corner isn’t sold on him just yet, but weathering a storm.
The first time one lands is always promising and his continued development development is worth following for those investing in Anderson.
It’S still a Sound Investment.
It wasn’t the most active of boxing weekends, but did have some notable moments, including the Roy Jones metaverse competition, that we saw and will ignore all right.
Let’S move along to women in boxing green, who we’ve mentioned often on talking fight, especially on Knuckle Up courtesy of Mike or she wants Savannah Marshall next uh and she says I expect the sanctioning bodies to keep their word.
This is according to uh Bob Newman on fightnews.
com.
He said after Savannah Marshall, her after Savannah Marshall’s hard fought majority decision victory over French John Cruz discern earned her the Undisputed super middleweight titles.
The buzz immediately began for a marshall Shields rematch, as in Clarissa Shields.
The only woman to defeat Marshall in the Pro ring Shields was on hand at the pro post fight press conference and promptly stoked the fires for a rematch come to Detroit and I’ll beat you again for her part Marshall and her team stumped him for the fight To be in the UK, there’s no money in women’s boxing in the United States.
Pay me the money and I’ll beat you again to which Shields replied in the amateurs Marshall retorted.
It’S still a win uh, while a rematch may be one of the higher profile fights in women’s boxing shadisha green has something to say about when and if that will take place.
Green holds a rare distinction in the boxing World being unanimously ranked number one across the board by all four sanctioning bodies, with a gaudy 12-0 record with 11 Knockouts greenfields.
She has waited long enough.
The reigning WBC silver champion at Super middleweight green, attended last year’s WBC convention in Acapulco Mexico to lobby for her shot at Cruz, discern that shot was approved and sanctioned by the WBC.
Only to see Marshall LeapFrog ahead of green and upset the apple cart still green is hopeful taking to social media.
She said, as I said earlier, I trust the sanctioning bodies will keep their word or vacate.
It would appear that that, with the rare unilateral agreement among the WBC WBA ibf and WBO the 33 year old green should get the next shot.
Marshall herself acknowledged that green is number one and deserves her shot and shields has said she considers herself Cruz discern Marshall and green as the Four Queens in women’s boxing in this era.
So, let’s see how this pans out, it’s going to be a nice tussle and we’ll see if green does in fact get her shot.
So thank you very much for joining me once again here on talk and fight.
I think gold is what we do.
Hey Carl Last belt boxing great podcast over across the pond um Jared, I’m telling you man look out for Jared Anderson, he’s gon na he’s gon na he’s gon na clean up in 2024.
.
Anyway, that’s uh! That’S a year away from now and uh.
We have to see what happens with a good old, uh, Deontay, Wilder, poor, brain and all uh, as well as whether Tyson Fury vacates if he takes on a MMA fighter next and whether auntie and Joshua can survive uh at all uh, given his punching mattresses.
Anyway.
That’S enough for me, uh thanks.
