[, Music, ] engineers, [, Music, ], hey, y’all, hey all right! So listen! It’S a little bit! Well done over 7.30.
.
You know what I’m saying we let this we let it sit on the flame for a little bit longer.
All right.
The ends might be a little bit brown, but it’s an at least still.
You can still have a taste okay.
So yes, it’s uh.
7.
44.
.
We know the the sugar show with everybody knows everybody.
You know we come here to rally at 7 30.
, but sometimes sugar checks in a little late, but I’m here and it’s Denali sugar brown show.
So you guys who are new uh.
This show the sugar show is a platform where I Natalie.
You should uh talks about talks to you about women’s boxing.
Okay, so I mean boxing is boxing, but women’s boxing is still an enigma of juiciness that I somewhat unravel in my show.
Okay, so uh, I read, you know, I tell you guys what the authentic, the authentic experience and the uh authentic messages behind read between the lines – okay, um and – and that’s just this – is me giving back to a sport, not the industry, but a sport who has Made me proudly and unapologetically who I am a bad okay.
So yes, it’s Natalie sugar, brown, uh, woman pugilist.
I will always be a fighter to the end.
I’M I think I might be retired, but I am True to this Sport and tonight’s show is called bantamweight.
Badness, okay and uh for those who are true y’all, know sug, like she’s a bit of a cave woman, but tonight I tried to put my notes on my phone, so I can have it here and and chat with you and read and chat and and chat With you, but it already ain’t going right, we gon na fix it, though we won’t think so um, where, where are we come on? You guys? Please just bear with me.
I I can’t believe tonight’s show is about the the bantamweight Division and what does what inspired me about um or inspired me to do this? Show um is because it’s not only the Ben that the bantamweight women’s division is is getting kind of interesting.
Um.
We’Ve got some contenders in this division that mix and match it’s going to be something good.
If you put them together, and you know what that means, money right and I used to just hope and dream that somehow uh women’s boxing would get so um relevant.
I’M not that we irrelevant, but I’m talking about in the grand scheme of the talk, that’s in the streets.
You know I wanted us to to be so relevant in in the conversations that um it would mean that all of us are eating of all of us.
Are making money? All of us are fighting right because if no one’s talking about you, sorry, you don’t exist and I mean I always referred back to my grandmother because uh that that she she is a legend and that woman she’s, given me um some great Insight that I I Take it into my fighting my understanding of life and fighting, so she was truly a fighter Ruby.
It’S on Ruby, Scott’s, granddaughter um, meaning that it like.
If, if they ain’t talking about you, you don’t exist, you don’t exist, not meaning.
Oh I’m invisible or I’m not.
Here, but so we’re kind of sort of still yeah right if they’re, not if no one’s talking about you, what what are you doing to make waves in the pond like? Are you just really sitting there like a like a rock? You know like what are you? No one’s, no one knows you’re there until they run into you like you, you got ta make you you got ta, make some waves, some Ripples and some waves right.
So I wanted women’s boxing to make Ripples and waves eventually to where, if it’s rippled and raised, that means it’s big and deficient upon biting and if we got fish biting then we can take it to Market and make some money.
You know so this.
This might be a parable opening, but um so connecting that to the bantamweight Madness.
It means that there are enough names in this division that pulls my interest and I’m sure it’s not only just my interest right.
There are enough bantamweight Baddies to make me want to see which one’s the baddest of them all right, because how there’s there’s boxing women’s boxing right now is the the old Antiquated dusty ass way right.
Oh, we only got one of these.
You know you ever been into a store and they come to you on some.
You know they got 20, damn more uh in some dusty racks in the back, but they telling you this the only this is it you guys so they’re trying to make you pay.
So much for the one thing when they got all the different kind of things and all different kind of flavors in the back, but what they want to do is up charge you one to one well, that is over right.
They did that for Christy.
Martin for that Christy Martin era, the early 90s right not going back right because going backwards is now pioneering women right, those pioneering women weren’t about the cell.
The pioneering women were to get the eyes of the General Public what women are behaving badly.
They fighting out here where we’ve got to go, see this right and right up until a promoter like a a a you know, a a promoter that was that had enough of a pull to have a big big clientele in this Marketplace.
Don King decides to make a huge fight under one of the greatest heavyweight champions in history.
Mike Tyson.
He decides to put a woman fight as the co-main on the card right, because no man, no man, no male bout, can that can come close to or either or even outshining the main event which is Mike Tyson.
You know everybody loved Mike Tyson, so he put this Rough and Tumble broad from West Virginia white girl badass on the undercard, and that was the beginning of women’s boxing women, boxings um money, making power yeah and what he did was he to focus on women in In boxing no because there were many women, there were many women boxing enough right.
What uh? What Don did was say.
Oh I got this one, this one product.
I got this one and she it’s the best one out there.
Even though there’s all different flavors, you can get it for just as much.
You could get better quality.
You could get cheaper right, but he got this one that he’s selling to the world and they bought it.
So then we have Christy Martin, who I I will.
I would want to call her the mother of the our purse, the the mother of um women’s boxing’s purse, because she was to she came out the gate where she was enough of a star.
They made her enough of a star to start putting coins in the pocket of women’s boxing right.
So, since Don did it, then you had all of the other promoters wanting to buy in it right because they’re selling and they saw how done marketed it and is selling it.
So if he’s selling it that way and if he’s marketing that way and he’s making money off of it, well we’ll do exactly what he’s doing, but we’ll just find a product of our own right, just cold, just like Coke did and then you got Pepsi right And then you got uh the name, the the grocery brand Cola and you got all the different, but they all Cola right and some people feel like they can tell the difference between Pepsi and Coke right or some people even feel like they can tell the difference Between the Pepsi brand or the Coke brand and the generic brand right, who knows, but this protocol this this um this prototype to sell that product now has become obsolete, obsolete right with the um amateurs becoming uh.
You know the the amateurs were always the the angle where women boxers really had a a voice.
I would say right because when you have the Olympics in the Olympic Committee and we’re we’re suing they ass and we winning and all of that stuff that, like we’re putting on a fight and we’re winning over in this area, we’re not necessarily winning in professional women’s Boxing, but in amateur women’s boxing, we’re winning right we’re getting acknowledged, we’re getting fights, we have tournaments, we have teams, we can get sponsorship.
Now we went in over here.
Okay, that now evolved into us being able to participate in many different, large marketplaces and instables festivals, meaning like we were able to have a world championship.
We were able to have a Pan-American games and and participate so world uh championships go to the Pan American games, which is a festival where we all get together and show our best right.
Then we had uh.
Then we went all the way up to Olympics, which is the big dance and we got invited there right 2012.
amateurs would wear women’s boxing had a voice Pros, we were still getting peanuts and much of us who turned Pro thinking that there was.
You know the grass was greener once we got from amateur to Pro, because why not right? We had such a voice.
We had.
We were on such a platform as amateurs.
When we become professionals, we surely are gon na get what we deserve and when we made the move over the pros they’re looking at us like, but what else you selling you say you could fight.
But what else are you selling wink wink? Oh you’re, not selling.
What uh these you? You not! You know what I’m saying: it’s not about fighting and the way you fighting you got to sell a little bit more right, and then you have other contenders out there that it’s not a graduating system like in the amateurs.
You got contenders out there that, because you know they got the promoter in their bosom right, they can beat you or say they beat you with with judges who have been paid off and boom.
Take away your your to take away your your brand, your quality, wherein amateurs my is on.
I got you see my receipt.
You see my ranking, I you won’t.
You wouldn’t have seen me at this festival at the World Championships.
If I wasn’t the baddest right going from there to where, like any given night, may not be your night in the pros right going from somewhere, where the ref, if you, if somebody chin, go up too high to rep, stop to the pros.
Where anything goes, you know what I’m saying: it’s a it’s a huge learning curve, and so that’s where you know that that’s where I’m coming from right, so with bantamweight Badness coming out of it.
Now we have women.
I’Ve told you the Prototype that they have been selling for women’s boxing, which now only focuses on that one can that’s on the Shelf.
We need to evolve to selling all the cans on the Shelf, because if everything on the Shelf is selling in its own right, you making money from all different angles right.
So you got to if, if they bind a Pepsi and they buy into Cola and they buy into um Coca-Cola and and the generic brand right, if all of this stuff they’re coming in and they’re buying, because they just love the cola.
Okay, then you making some real money without even stressing too much, because if you don’t, if they’re not going to buy the Pepsi, they like it so much they’ll buy the generic brand.
You still get money from them.
It hasn’t gotten there yet.
So though, it’s bittersweet for me right, because I behaved badly for peanuts compared to what these broads are getting now and they’re a fraction of what the Sharks were out in the waters.
I can my time.
I know that I can speak on that um they’re, not even you know, having to go 15 rounds and they’re not even having to fight the whole three minutes where the Pioneers had to isn’t that something.
So now, since I just given away the money but to certain uh faces and places, the bantamweight division has a skid row that is pretty um, that that is is pretty impressive.
So, if any smart promoter who is listening out there, if, if any of you guys, want to know where you can get some some coin, the next, the the next uh pack, that you can make some coin out of or slot machine, because we already making coin Out of the uh featherweight right, that’s where Katie Taylor and she’s she’s every time she fights somebody she’s bringing in a uh at least a million dollars right, and then you got now Clarissa who has widened the division of making coin from middleweight to Super middleweight right.
The other weight divisions, those slot those slot machines, they they not even they have ain’t.
Nobody and you can’t hit the jackpot because ain’t enough people putting coins, if I’m explaining it correctly right.
So there’s not enough people looking and buying from that bantamweight area and division.
But if there’s enough, if there’s now enough faces that can pull the interest and enough uh enough flavor that they may take a couple they they may take in a couple bantamweight fights, then there we have it.
So I think we’re almost there to where there might be a jackpot to hit in this bantamweight Division, and I also like I said I highlighted it because um it was a big thing earlier, where it came out that a fighter, a woman’s Fighter um, who only Had four professional fights um fought for the WBA World title: okay and you guys I have a.
I have a show belts and bodies.
Look at it on my list belts and bodies, right it it it’s! It’S learning! It’S good learning! I explain to you what the sanctioning bodies mean, what they are and how they play in the whole industry of boxing, especially now um, where they’re allowing women boxers to really actively fight for their titles, um, and so with.
Four there was there was.
It was unheard of, or it is unheard of in any professional.
You know in any professional facet that someone only has four days of experience or has tried four times at something and um they would be deemed the best in the world at it.
I don’t care how good you I don’t care, how good you flip your Burgers.
Okay, you flip you, you ain’t the best.
It’S always somebody! That’S going to flip a Better Burger than you.
You know I mean it’s like seriously.
I’Ve had some good burgers.
Okay, it’s the same thing with these um with now how this um sanctioning thing goes in women’s boxing right so um.
I said that because, like I said having four fights and then fighting Fighters for a world title, how dare you you’ve only had four fights? I don’t care where you came from right.
You can’t do it, but recently um a fighter named Nina Hughes.
Okay became uh, not only she a crone at 41 years old, right um, but she also became a world champion with having only five fights.
Okay.
Now, both both you know the the subject and the predicate of you know, the whole sentence is unhurt like it’s unimaginable: okay, a 41 year old woman and she just became a world champion boxer with only having four fights.
How much credibility does that? Give the sport or the the um the bar, you know what level is the bar now in women’s boxing that a 41 year old woman, who has only had four professional fights, can fight for a world rated title and and then win it and get it.
So that’s where this is: where I’m coming from now um, I can’t pay who’s gon na pay for that who’s paid for who’s gon na pay.
For that I she’s she may be great and and Nina Hughes from what I’ve learned of her.
She was a a an elite level: amateur okay, due to her age and starting late I mean many.
A Champions have started late, but it never stopped anything right.
It’S only a problem if you make it a problem right, I’m an old lady right, but you know what um.
If you give me a try, I promise I won’t disappoint you right, but some people don’t give us old lady chance as old lady chances right so at 41 years old you’re, a crone approaching dragon ship in women’s boxing, meaning, oh you haven’t, you haven’t left out Of here yet yet yet you’re old! Well, you know they’re not gon na do who wants to you know who wants to fight an old lady right who wants to get who wants to say this old lady beat? You beat this young girl.
You know what I’m saying: who wants who’s going who’s going to think that now, there’s 40, something year old, is going to stick around long enough to be enough of a challenge to make some money.
That’S what people poor thinking right, even though I’ve explained it um in in my previous shows, where in in boxing and I’m gon na say in boxing the development is different when it comes to males in inboxing and females in boxing see what happens is a female? A woman Peaks in her 30s as a fighter, that’s when she’s peeking, okay and she may peek right into maybe 42 43 44.
right and then she’ll decline.
You should have to find her way out in mailboxing guys peek at around 20.
right and depending on what weight you are you’re going to peek and yeah or you’re gon na well, no they’re gon na peek at around not 20.
they’re, going to peek at around 22 start peeking right up to maybe 29.
, and then they start to decline right.
So you got to get to the male fighter.
He’S got to get his stuff over with early earlier and then he’s out for women.
We stick around for a long time because in those early in those early years, that’s when we learn right and if you’re doing something long enough right when you when, if you’re peeking in in your latter years.
Oh, my gosh right, you, you you, you have now have had more time into this thing into whatever it is that you’re doing to be excellent, to be great to to know it like the back of your hand right.
So that’s where that’s another place where I want to highlight women’s boxing and show where we have not to say that yeah, because I don’t wan na I’ve, never never compared women’s boxing to male boxing right because there’s no comparison right it it.
It is their relative.
Much like apples and oranges are fruits.
You know it’s just really generically General.
That way right.
So in women’s boxing there are things you watch the fights differently.
You watch the fights differently.
You look at the different ways that the different weights use their bodies to fight.
You look at more of the tactics of the women.
You look at their personality, you look at how they apply uh stress and how they deal with the stress right.
You you look at these things and you’re, not looking at it where in women’s box and where oh, oh, it’s gon na, be a knockout and uh you’re.
Looking at um in when women, when you watch a real good woman fight, you’re you’re watching two, two Petty broads that you know, will you want to see how Petty this broad will get right? So in a good fight, you’ll see, you know, you’ll see a broad.
Do something like bounce? You know not not headbutt, but you’ll see you know, you’ll see the the combination and she’ll she’ll use a part of her body and and either lay on the other girl or bouncer, or you know just just female stuff that we do fights more.
So you know differently than what men do in fights and it’s it’s quite um, it’s quite interesting anyway, so this Nina Hugh she said she was on the uh.
She was on the elite level in amateurs around the time when Nicola Adams was around and um.
She, due to her age, she was kind of apprehensive about moving forward in professional boxing because, as I’ve said before, amateur boxing was where it’s at.
Nobody wanted to go and become a pro because you’re going to go into where you’re not making no money, you’re, not making no money, you’re irrelevant now and um.
You are just in the Muddy Pond with the rest of us right um, but she said she still had it in her and after having her second child, she decided to get back, training and um being that she had that background, especially in the amateurs where she Was able to amass enough experience where, when she gets in the Pro she has she, she has a a better concept of the technicality of boxing than most of the women out here who behave badly.
Who didn’t have a pedigree they just jumped in fighting right? Because you can, you can just you can get a license and you can start fighting if you, if you’re bad enough right so um after four fights her and her people didn’t because she got people she had gotten people behind her.
She was able to get enough.
Um enough faith enough um investors behind her, where they were able to put money in or put money down for her to be to contest or to to fight for um the WBA bantamweight title where she did win.
Okay, so after four fights being and after being an elite fighter previously in the amateurs getting into prose she um, she became world champion with four fights: okay, not a good selling tool.
No One’s Gon na buy that.
But congratulations girl the the cute thing about it, though, in the battleway division, um and lovely assistant, let’s start putting on let’s, let’s see what the size of is looking like, lovely assistant.
Where are you there? You are okay, so that’s Nina Hughes.
Now she got five wins: okay, and then she got two Kos and she’s.
A world champion world champion means that you get like nowadays too, in women’s boxing.
You you at least getting five zeros right as a world champion now, because a good amount, a good little sprinkle of them they’re, getting uh six figures, right, um, yeah, okay and then Katie right um.
Amid I think, Katie and Amanda made six figures in their fight.
I think Clarissa Shields she came out.
She said you know her Reese, her fight with um previous to this one was a million dollar fight.
So I mean people are paying Millions for that.
Would you pay? Would you buy into that Millions for a world champion who’s defending her title that she’s only had five fights? That’S what I mean and that’s what I’m talking about.
We need better brains.
We need better money, making people in our industry because it’s not hard.
It’S right.
There it’s right there, but it’s such a crabs in a barrel environment that um we’re all.
You know.
Everyone suffers right, um yeah.
She is 41 years old and yes, they have made it hard for um.
Once you get once you get to 40, it’s hard to pass your medicals to get a fight, yeah and they’re.
They do it for the male Fighters, but I think now, because I mean it it’s women’s boxing and because of what I explained previously, where women don’t peek until they’re in their later years.
It it works against the the potential the the real grand money-making uh possibilities of women’s boxing, because you you’ll never see a complete product.
You will never see a product that has developed from uh.
You know that that Grassroots to full bloom maturity, you it it it we’re eating the fruit before it’s ripe.
That’S what I mean.
Okay, so um that you know, there’s Nina huge, rushing her into this 5 5-0 world championship.
Title now good good on good on her um, but the thing about it is now who will now clamor to fight this.
This um this 41 year old woman with five fights who will clamor to her for a fight.
I say I got eight fights see.
I have 12 fights, so I have I mean you’re gon na see the other I mean lovely assistant.
Give me the other image you read to give me the other imagery, let’s go next.
I want to show you know right so this is, she doesn’t look she.
She she doesn’t, that was really fat that was too fast lovely assistant go back because I wanted to show her and her kids her child come on now I thank you um, so you know that she’s she’s in the ring with her son and with you know With the belt there and he’s got the other belt across him, and so I mean that’s great that it’s a great sell, it’s a great sell, but now industry wise right a 41 year old female fighter will not get a job.
She will not get a fight right, um Hughes here hit the jackpot and she had some.
She had some pool from her amateur days.
Right would say you are I’d, say you are a a woman in great shape out here.
You’Ve been training, you don’t have an amateur background, but you’ve been training at another high level.
Sport and you want to go into professional boxing.
It’S a no-go.
You’Ll, never get a job.
They won’t give you a fight because number one, no one wants to.
No one wants to risk getting beat by an old woman.
41.
number two, those medicals right.
No one wants to be right.
According to now the rules, no one wants to be liable for an old lady, getting hurt right.
Young girl, yeah young, broad yeah, but we can’t get.
We can handle old, ladies getting hurt on on our watch right and then five fights she’s only half fights.
She only has five fights me.
Go fight this old lady with five fives and she mess around because she’s good.
She is good she mess around and beat me.
I can’t risk that so as congratulatory as it is lovely assistant go on to the next image and as much as I love it, they sold it wrong and gave away the bag.
I ain’t hating on it.
I promise you right.
I want it bottled and sold, though, that not only can this crone about to be a dragon, make some more money, but some other Crohn’s going into dragon ship can bring money into the pot into the pool too of sharks.
That’S what I mean about making money in this industry of women’s boxing, okay, lovely assistant, you you’re too slowly hired, fired, loveliest, listen, don’t play with me tonight! So why you? This must be my young this this my youngin right here.
Playing with me right.
I spent kids, they mustn’t.
Tell you about me.
I spent kids too, all right so there she is in the ring, like she looks fantastic, great still, marketing material um, and so you know what I’m saying the the sell of it can be so much more um.
What I want, though you know, is 41 year old world uh world champion with only five fights.
That’S not what what you see in this picture.
You see a healthy um.
You know youthful strong badass that happens to be 41 years old.
You understand what I’m saying it can be sold so much different and – and it can be so so different that it could make your pockets a little bit fatter anyway, lovely assistant keep going left, lovely assistant.
She in the ring with her her child come on.
Let’S go you, you played me on this one.
Let’S go come on Lovely assistant There.
She Goes.
She’S got the you know.
She’S she’s got the the real um prize.
When you draw blood, I’m sorry cause we, you know, but boxing, it’s not about oh craft, and we want to draw blood in there.
That’S the real prize right, so you get somebody’s blood on you.
You are on you, especially for us for us women.
It’S like a thing right.
It’S like yeah.
I got your blood on my outfit, you know what I’m saying is like you.
I you should be escape a scared of me like I, you, your blood is on my outfit.
Do you know what I’m saying anyway? It’S just like, I said it’s Lauren, it’s a thing for for us badasses and women who behave badly in in women’s boxing um and it’s another thing.
You know it’s like a uh like a men.
Have this machismo thing women have.
Are you know female women? You know fatismo right where uh there’s some there’s some things, that we do, that you like, damn that that that that’s that gal right there.
Oh that’s her, that’s her right there right and a part of it is that um.
I got your hair in my hand.
You know like that when it comes to Behaving Badly right, so that’s all I’m saying lovely assistant next, all right so um she has now um gone into where she, I think, let’s see where’s my notes, my notes.
Okay, you guys sorry all right, so we have on the left, Jamie Mitchell, okay and then who we have on the right.
Sorry, let me go through my notes.
Sugar will get a name wrong, but, like I’m trying y’all see, I got notes all right, so um who we have on the right is Shannon Courtney.
Okay, now these are two um.
These two baddies are great contenders in this bantamweight division, not that they it right but um in the bantamweight division.
Now um, instead of having the one they’re, both tough they’ve, both proved their.
You know their their Moxie in the ring um.
You guys bear with me.
Please um so all right, so Jamie Mitchell, um has fought some great opposition out there uh she fought um, Shannon Courtney um, who you’re looking at and Shannon Courtney is coming.
You know she.
She has a great story.
I’M gon na there’s some there’s some more to the to the show, but um.
Shannon Courtney is a fighter who you know.
She’S they’ve built her well enough.
They built her pretty good and she’s she where’s mine.
She had made a name for herself um, where she beat the the the um Marilyn Monroe, the glamor girl uh, because that’s what it looked like she’s trying to be of women’s boxing uh ebony Bridges.
Okay, so she beat ebony Bridges and um.
I believe she’s, the only person that they both went in um.
They both went in 0-0, so somebody’s oh had to go and she oh never mind.
Shannon Courtney had one loss so her her.
She had already been handed to l um when her and Ebony Bridges fought.
Okay, now Ebony Bridges, you know, put out herself out there right, she’s, she’s testing the waters and so then um.
Shannon Courtney then moved on to uh.
Fighting Jamie Mitchell and Jamie Mitchell beat um.
Will you see there Shannon Courtney? Okay? So, like you already see where it looks like it’ll, be a great trilly like a a great um kind of Trilogy type tournament, or you know it’s like okay.
What what would happen if Jamie and Ebony fought you know or what would happen if um ebony fought uh Shannon again, and you know you you just you can play around with with those um, with those results and and and with each uh player in that and And still have a great match up and a good enough matchup to put on any uh to put on any big card, I would say, because they’ve that’ll generate uh.
All three of them are popular enough in women’s boxing and have enough of a following to put the weight up, put an extra zero on on the match, right, um and they’re they’re strong.
All three of them are strong right, so you might even get a knockout in there.
If you look at their knockout percentages and you look at their, you know, you start doing your your homework and you start watching their fights right, which the great thing is.
We got YouTube now, so you can pull up a bronze fight.
Couldn’T do that back in the days you had to see.
If someone had a video anyway, uh lovely assistant, let’s see what else what else is on the list? What else is on okay? So you see Shannon Courtney, eight wins two losses, um and she has no draws.
She has KO power where she has um three Knockouts three Kos in that eight; Okay, so so um she lost to a fighter named Rachel ball um.
Who was a us who was an active super bantamweight and it looked like um, you know it looked like Rachel ball could have been uh.
Uh could have also been something they were building her.
They were building her either.
She could be a a good um stepping stone, or you know, she’s just they they deemed her inactive uh when, when she was at seven wins one loss, I wonder why she must have been um look.
Well, let’s, let’s hope it.
It wasn’t personal.
You know too personal, where she she going through hardship.
Let’S hope it’s like a voluntary thing where she’s bowed out of the industry, but she wasn’t looked like she was a pretty good contender um.
So that’s one of uh Shannon’s losses and then Jamie Mitchell.
So she didn’t lose to any stumble bumps, which makes for a great Contender right, because a win isn’t a win and a loss isn’t really a loss.
You had to check the receipt in women’s boxing and short Shannon Courtney, even though I mean eight and two was still a great record, still a great record in when, especially in women’s boxing um lovely assistant, next uh, and so we got Jamie Mitchell here.
I promise you um, they be doing us wrong on on box rack, I can say that this is not one of Jamie’s, most flattering pictures, but there it is, and – and I didn’t do this one on – I picked this one on purpose girl.
This is what they got you in the books they this, what they got you on file, looking like, okay, so uh Jamie Mitchell now has nine wins: uh one loss, okay and uh two draws all right, and now you guys are going to see the the one Loss that Jamie Mitchell, who had beat that Baddie before the one loss, is to uh Nina Hughes, who’s 41 years old, and only he has five fights right.
Um! Isn’T that interesting right so um, let’s see it’s hoping to see the when is the the ages come on? They don’t put the you guys, I’m sorry they stopped putting the ages on the database.
They thought they think they slick yeah, because that’s one thing to Fighters.
They don’t put their their age out there for anyone to find it, because of the very reason that I explained earlier so um y’all gon na have to Google Jamie Mitchell and and come up with the age, because I don’t even want to make that uh.
A point of discussion: it’s the fact that Jamie Mitchell, who I mean even look at box, rec um as much as we don’t want to use them as the source, The Source, the and, to a certain degree they get in there they’re getting their little kickbacks from From now people in the industry, I would say: they’re more reliable, uh ranking wise than um the other actual ranking systems, or definitely getting bought out um, so yeah.
So now you know full circle right.
Do you believe that Nina Hughes actually beat this Contender? Who has nine nine wins? One you know shoot this fighter was 9-0 before she ran into um, Nina Hughes right coming in 9-0, with 5kos you’re gon na fight somebody you stepping up to fight.
Are you stepping up to go to war with someone who has gone in there nine times and out of the nine times they’ve made five or dating they made five fall flat, they’ve stopped them, and here you go right.
You coming in with your four fights and it ain’t showing that you got knockout power, neither right and you’re supposed to be.
You know this is this is a younger Contender than you? Okay, so, okay, I don’t know it’s.
It’S sounding interesting to me.
You guys like yeah, but you know, if you, if you’re, if you’re, really interested in just general fights like me, I people watch.
I like I liked it.
That’S one of my things, my guilty pleasures and the reason why people watch is because I sit back and I was like suppose them two had a fight who would win.
Do that all the time young old, Rich, poor, big small right, you determine a decision like that right because it’s if it came down to a number of course you could pick.
But how? How you judge when you people watch that way.
Is you look at a person’s attitude how they move what they do and then it becomes interesting right, much like how I’m telling you that’s how you watch.
That’S how you pretty much watch a women’s boxing fight right.
It’S more your people watching! It’S not oh! This is, you know: she’s got big muscle.
Well, you know this is a undefeated fighter and this and that you really want to see what kind of broad is fighting.
Who is this oh and she’s fighting who her and who is that? Oh, she did right.
So then you can make that now that it brings interest because you’re like I want to see okay they’re gon na get, I want to see who’s been.
I want to see who’s really the baddest out of the both of them right and then, of course, there are certain you know in negotiations for a fight.
You sacrifice certain things, especially if you know you’re, maybe the older fighter or you maybe you’re the poorer fighter.
You have to give up certain things to get the opportunity and things like that, but you know that’s life and you’re better on yourself when you sign your life on that dotted line right um, especially in women’s boxing, because uh on you have to build your brand And you have to build who you are enough of Who You Are in the ring for it to make? I mean well outside the rain, for it to make sense in the ring.
If you know what I mean right, No One’s Gon na Come watch, someone whose name is not being spoken right, even if it’s in your little Hometown that you’re fighting in people know you and they’re going to come out to watch you now I’ve gone into hometowns When I just started amateurs you know and um walked into a HomeTown without a name and left with the name right.
So that’s the beauty.
That’S the beauty about this whole thing um, but I digress.
Let’S go back to this so um with with this bantamweight Contender, lovely assistant, let’s switch it! Let’S move on to the next okay, so then we have ebony bridges.
Yeah y’all done messed up the slides because I this um this one in order did this to me again: [ Music, ], yeah um.
So now you got ebony Bridges here: um and Ebony Bridges; nine wins one loss; okay, very much like Jamie Mitchell! I would love to see those two go at it.
You know what I’m saying um, that’s where it gets interesting, because ebony Bridges is um: okay, ebony Bridges.
My my guys are having like side conversations with me.
I know I know um yeah, I’m saying they distracting me um, but uh.
Now Ebony is nine and one she’s.
The Marilyn Monroe happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday, [, Music ]! Mr President, stop somebody then chimed in already, because I’m in here acting a damn fool.
Somebody had to stop me, let’s see who chimed in the boxing wizard saying hello, sugar.
I remember our last chat on here salute hey boxy Richard, and that was listen.
That was some time ago.
You haven’t seen me in so long where you been at and you come back when you come back to me now, thanks for coming back um so tonight tonight we’re we’re talking about the bantamweight Division and we’re talking about it’s growing, bantamweight Badness, meaning it there’s enough.
Badness in this division, with these contenders that timing, in any other so Eddie Barrington, comes in and gives me roses, I can’t be mad at y’all.
You know that.
That’S that’s one thing y’all know.
Y’All know sugar is like y’all know the kind of woman.
I am huh.
Where are you? Where are you at in, in where you at you were in cyberspace? You all need to good come where I’m at right, because the the contenders that are around have been in postures.
You guys know what I like now.
Eddie shows up after he ain’t seen me in so long with roses.
How am I going? How am I going to just turn you away so welcome tonight to the show Eddie Barrington? Thank you, the boxing real, the boxing wizard chives in and says I realized.
I miss sugar.
You right.
You gon na miss everybody like you’re gon na miss having something sweet.
Now, yeah, I’m sweet.
I don’t care what none of y’all say: I’m sweet! I got more people saying it than not um, but yeah um.
Thank you guys for showing up tonight talking about this because uh sugar, you know sugar like to talk about a lot of things in in in boxing and money is one of them right, especially in women’s boxing, because it it is exciting me, the you know it.
It’S exciting Bittersweet, I always say bittersweet, because trust me, you guys um in in who, who are now taking interest in women’s boxing, have missed out on some wonderful, wonderful, uh, brilliant females who were who, who were a part of the game actively fighting you know and Actively Behaving Badly compared to who you know these, ladies, that we have now um and – and you know it’s not I’m not downplaying anything, but you had to see.
I mean what kind you had to see abroad, who was fighting 15 rounds? Three 15 minutes.
3.
15.
3 minutes 15 rounds right and she’s working her ass off because she wants to prove that she’s just as much of a fighter as she is these badass men out here that are going three minutes 15 rounds right now.
Two minutes 10 Rounds.
You tease it, you don’t really want it.
So uh the boxing wizard comes in and says elegant, knowledgeable, lady you’re, a rare gem.
Female boxing is on the rise and then put the hunted slide.
Who are you talking about boxing wizard talking about me? [ Laughter, ] blushing, on it, it’s suddenly gotten hot in here um, because I feel like you talking about me, boxing, Wizard and I’ma, run with it, because you talking about me right but um, you know bringing it back to ebony Bridges.
You know she’s.
I I think, like I like what she’s contributing to women’s boxing right now um I like what uh Jamie Mitchell had you know, I I I like the her persona.
I, like um, I even like Nina Hughes, even though you know she’s she’s from I think she’s the UK, so she’s quite conservative and um.
We don’t do we, don’t we don’t like conservative women Behaving Badly um over here.
We we like for on our side of the pond.
We like women, who really act up, hence look at look at who who’s one of our best, who is our best pound for pound right, Clarissa Shields, and there ain’t nothing that she do better than act up.
But within reason right so I and and that’s what sells and and that’s what make people want to fight her.
That’S what make people want to watch her fight and this make people want to buy a ticket to see if she gets beat.
You know it’s just that, that’s what sells over here now over in the UK, I with the variety of uh contenders that you all are producing now.
I would have to say that you guys are very, very conservative and um it’s more so about um.
I guess what happens in the ring which I do appreciate.
I do appreciate that it.
It does come down to the fight, but it also comes down to everything that leads up to the fight right and we, you know it’s just boring for two women to say.
Oh, and I I hope you know she’s, she gives it to her all because I’m gon na give it my all and we’ll meet it together.
You know we want beef and there’s a title.
I have a show that is titled.
We want beef and I explain why we want beef, especially when it’s time for women to behave badly and fight right, because that and ain’t nothing like two broads that are are up here with are who want to go at it and wan na reason to beat Up the other one right, it just is even I’ve had I’ve been cordial with like when I was fighting.
I only had a real problem with one of my uh fights ever.
I only had a real problem with one but um the others were more.
I made the problem because I had to have a reason to fight this broad right and it could be.
You know she thinks she could beat me me.
You think you can beat me, so you think you gon na punch me all up in my face.
You know what I’m gon na kick your ass.
You know like um, you know that’s how we all kind of get ourselves amped.
That way.
That was me.
You know I had to bring the Moxie out right.
There’S some people have to be mad.
They face balled up and whatnot.
You know we.
I was yeah different, I’m like she thinks really showed up.
She really came here.
She got up this morning and she brushed her teeth and prepared to beat me.
Are we fine because ain’t? Nobody finna be Ruby ain’t.
Nobody gon na beat Ruby’s granddaughter um, so when I lose, I always the way I fought was so entertaining that win or lose people would show up, and that’s how I performed and that’s how I was able to get my my value in that ring.
You know that there was no Olympics or anything at the time.
I did make enough of a brand name of myself, but I also uh not only performed in the ring, but I had that Moxie outside of the ring that people loved to um, to follow and and to and to be present for um.
The boxing wizard comes in and says: Clarissa has the Floyd effect.
You love her or hate her, but she’s good at what she does.
Yeah is um, Floyd was groomed, Believe It or Not.
Floyd was groomed uh.
Look at him in the amateurs.
There’S enough footage and information about Floyd and the amateurs where um he wasn’t the way he was as the pro he had to create that persona money.
You know um money, he had to create a Persona.
Nobody knew him as money in the amateurs right.
He was from the Mayweather’s which they have a they.
They had a pretty prestigious name in boxing right and he’s now coming up under that shadow, and so he has to make his own persona and that’s why he came out with money right just like sugar.
Just like missed two bad words too bad right because Floyd wouldn’t sell it wouldn’t wouldn’t want to be the one selling those tickets.
And even now you don’t have you don’t wear a Floyd hat on right.
You don’t wear a Floyd hat.
You wear a Money! Team hat because you’re a part of the team money, not Floyd, you understand what I’m saying that that’s how that’s where the evolution is and that’s why Floyd Mayweather um is the greatest fighter outside like money, making wise marketing wise he’s a greater fighter he’s the greatest Fighter um doing that because he was able to promote himself to where he is a uh.
His brand, he didn’t represent the sport um.
Sorry, his brand is now synonymous with the sport.
Much like you know, the NBA is that that logo is synonymous with basketball.
You you’re not looking at Euro league and thinking it’s NBA or anything like that, you’re looking at it as you know, damn Monday, that’s about you know boxing money.
You understand what I’m saying.
I hope you do because tonight it just feels like I’m, rambling, um and so yeah.
So I don’t think Clarissa has the the Floyd effect per se, because she’s still Clarissa right, she’s trying to say she’s trying to call herself guat, you know and T-Rex, but that doesn’t represent the woman.
That’S not her Persona, as a woman, and so she’s gon na have to grow up a little bit more for that to come out right because um, you know, fans call her um.
What are the? What are the fans calling her? Were the fans really calling her guat? No there’s, you know they don’t know what they don’t have a name right.
So when she, when her Persona really when she comes out and that Persona now uh gives identifies themselves, that’s when you will see the effect of Clarissa right um, the thing about it is um and lover hate her she’s good at what she does.
But what does she do? The boxing wizard she’s good at what what is Clarissa Shields good at um and I’m not.
This is not a diss or anything.
I just want to know what you guys out there think Clarissa Shields is good at she’s, a good she’s she’s, a good boxer, but there are many good boxers out there.
Um the boxing Wizards says I watched some of your fights.
Damn you could fight the pop in those punches too sheesh.
Okay, boxing wizard, see so you’ve seen some footage of me out here.
I always say it this way.
I’Ve had some good days at the office, and I’ve had some bad days at the office, but I always showed up to work, okay, um and so yeah.
That’S what sugar was known for in the ring right.
The way I threw my my punches, they called me too bad, then missed too bad, then sugar.
For some reason I threw the punches and bunches and I never let up, and they were always they always had that heat on them right.
I was one I am one of the only females that can knock you clean out um in the first round.
It doesn’t in in two minutes yeah.
So I had that thunder clap.
I call it the Thunderclap not uh.
Maybe one percent of female Fighters have the Thunderclap yeah and um y’all haven’t told me that have how bad, how kind of questionable the Thunderclap sounds like if you, if your mind, is if you have a mind that wanders and kind of goes gets lost in that Gutter y’all see my cow lick in the back.
Look at mine um, My Little twirl um Thunderclap.
If you put a little comedy to it, can mean something else: that’s funny, but not funny, but um.
Just going back to this okay, so yeah um and a fighter named Aunt Sophie Mathis had the thunder, clap she’ll hurt you.
If she put her hands on you um goodness I got, ta go back and wolf is another fighter that had the Thunder clap.
If she put her hands on you, you’ll go she’ll, sh she’ll, put you to sleep right.
There are many other female Fighters that they dance and they buggy and they want.
You know whatever, but we’ll come out there, we’ll walk fresh out, clap slump abroad and go home, make that money in less than 30 seconds yeah um yeah.
I have stopped somebody in less than 30 seconds.
I ain’t getting that ain’t.
Nobody um man, nobody really marketed that, but yeah I’ve done that so um.
I said that to say this you know um.
I just wish.
I I the boxing wizard with you know those with with that talent.
I wish I was around now.
I wish I was peaking now right, even though I feel like they would still um avoid me like the like, like covid out here.
You know, but I think uh.
I had enough people that believed in me that I I would have been a better Contender, um and or I would have been at the level where you know I could.
I could really make a difference and and and be on these large platforms.
Um fighting all these broads because I I I’m just not concerned not concerned about um anybody like I I know with who I am who I am as a fighter and and what my where I was.
I did.
I I just don’t see where you know it would have been harder.
I don’t know if anything um, let’s see oh and then Eddie Barrington comes in and says he’s the Drake of boxing.
Oh my gosh, so um.
I guess you can say that um Eddie Barrington, you must be Canadian for real Eddie.
You Canadian saying he’s the Drake of boxing, because Drake is only Drake um up in Canada, like in my parts we like we, we rock with we rock with enough people like we, we rock with certain other people, I’m just saying, there’s nothing wrong with it.
There’S nothing wrong with it.
Um Eddie Barrington says at wizard.
When sugar throws hands, the only place you want to be is in the audience.
No Cap, oh, but that’s a bar though huh.
That’S a bar drink, it Eddie Eddie.
You need to be giving him These Bars and get you and getting to getting your money.
You know he hired him.
He like he, he like paying them Ghost Riders, yeah yeah Drake Draco did Drake will do something with that one uh, the boxing wizard says it seems like the female fighters of the past, had slash have more power than today’s generation.
It makes you wonder why.
Well, let me explain to you why I’ll explain to you why, when you are conditioned to only be to only be in their mind and and just thought process wise for only two minutes, you don’t have to fight, you don’t have to fight.
I always say it.
This way that third Min, that third minute is when the real fight goes down right, because you can run for two minutes.
You can run for two minutes that third minute, where that shot at the beginning at minute number one starts to make a difference in the third minute.
Oh sure, I Can’t Catch My Breath Right.
That’S when you’re in the real fight, because that’s when you’re feeling the effects of what of of what the seeds that were planted in the beginning.
That’S when you really feel it by the time those you know those seeds start to bloom in women’s boxing.
The is on the stool, I’m sorry to even say it like that, but you know it pisses me off she’s on the stool recovering, so she gets it’s like she gets a a extra life right, but that third minute that third minute will get a lot of These broads and a lot of these so-called champions out of here and that’s the difference, so the fighters that were fighting back in the day, the female Fighters that were fighting back in the day.
We didn’t train for two minutes.
We trained to fight three minutes and what was happening is due to how judges were scoring.
Judges were only scoring in a two-minute parameter right or in that two-minute capacity.
So it’s plant as many seeds as you can.
They won’t bloom right, so you go out there and you shimmy and you shake and you pop pop plant the seeds right and that’s what the judges is looking at, how many seeds did she plant in in for a three in the mind of a three-minute round Fighter those seeds that are planted are take to take longer to acquire meaning.
If I’m, if I’m not a Thunderclap fighter, I have to put those shots together in order for them to make a difference in order for them to actually break the person down in front of me, the two-minute mentality is, I am scoring points.
I am not breaking anyone down, I’m scoring points, I’m I’m! I’M planting a lot of seeds right three-minute fighter mentality is I’m planting seeds that will grow um.
I’M hoping you guys get it right so um! That’S why we punched harder! That’S why we did all of these things.
That’S why we fought differently because we were trained.
We have a different mentality than these two-minute um broads that are out here now um, but the evolution would be if they would allow the older broads or they would have allowed the older broads from that era.
From that mentality to now mold the two-minute broads right, they brought Eddie Hearn in them, especially with now I thank goodness she’s finally been dethroned.
I’M sorry, but I just don’t understand how you gon na be a baddie and you’re a track star.
