[, Music, ] hello, boxing fans around the world thanks for joining us once again here on knuckle up with uh, cedric ben and mike orr and they’re ready to talk about one of my favorite fighters, uh, the younger brother of tim tazu, so uh i’ll leave.
You guys at it and give him a good profile.
No, definitely definitely so we’re talking about it.
Man we’re talking about a generational boxing, family uh.
You know older brother, a sensation, uh father.
You know well known in the game, while the younger brother of tim, tazu, nikita to zoo, had signed a pro contract back um when his brother increased his unbeaten professional record to 20-0, with 15 kos uh to zoo against japan, star uh uh.
Was it takashi inui uh retained his wbo global in wbo asia, pacific super welter titles and won convincingly on points with the judges scoring it 119 to 108, 120 to 107, 120 to 107.
and that night his brother? Yes, if just in case uh people recognize the last name yeah, i think i think he’s said it real quick at the beginning, but his father is his father’s hall of fame boxer costume.
Yes, yes, one of the great uh one of the great uh welterweights and from the late 90s early 2000s um, so yeah, that’s his father.
Yes, yes, that is his father highly decorated, uh.
You know boxer.
Well, the younger brother of the australian star attempted to follow in his family’s footsteps.
Uh, you know he signed this deal becoming a professional boxer.
Nikita now, 23 uh was a very talented amateur boxer before walking away from the sport years ago to pursue a degree in architecture uh.
The two brothers are, the sons of you know that boxing legend uh costa, zoo yeah, yeah man, and it’s understood that nikita is eyeing his professional debut this well, he was eyeing his professional debut in february, but guys it happened today.
It happened today.
You cannot.
You cannot get any more exclusive uh content than this when uh.
You know when, when that, when mike is, is searching and doing research to find these up-and-coming boxers that nobody’s heard of um.
You know what a what a better way to profile, someone that, on the the same day of their professional debut exactly exactly when we find it only find it here at talk and fight.
That’S right! That’S right! That’S where you’re gon na find a man you’re fighting a talking fight.
Well, how did you do you asked guys? Well you, you know, you know what you know what he did.
He won man come on, you know he’s at the zoo uh and he did it.
He did it in a very, very dominant matter.
Man yeah, it’s it’s um funny, because his his style is exactly like his uh his father’s, but even though he’s a southpaw, his dad was was an orthodox fighter.
Um nikita is a is a southpaw but yeah.
If you just watch a couple of his of his father’s fights, you can see the style like just the way he’s he’s he’s, calm he’s putting pressure on you, but it doesn’t make sense.
Unless you see it, it’s he’s putting pressure, but in a calm way.
I know it smells kind of contradicting, but like he’s not just coming after you in a wild way, he’s coming after you, but in a in a calm collective way, exactly shout out to ray from uh from the uk thanks brother thanks for watching um honestly, what I think what i think is really crazy about.
It is, is okay, he might have walked away from the bar from boxing for six years, but there’s no way.
He’D walked away from his boxing training.
I’Ll tell you that he pursued a degree in architecture.
That’S fine! He’S got that, but uh yeah man he’s been hitting those pads and doing work that whole six years because to come out in such a such a dominant performance.
Today, uh, you know he lived up to the hype uh in his professional, debut man dominant in the second round stoppage of a bloodied aaron stahl in brisbane uh.
You know this kid’s got world title hope and uh his older brother tim in his corner and the 24 year old who has given away a you know, as gave away a career in architecture now to pursue a dream in the ring.
Uh barely raised a sweat in this fight today, uh pretty significant uh career change, yeah man, that’s what i’m saying right architecture to boxing.
You know he’s not building them up anymore.
Man he’s breaking them down; yes, architects! That’S his nickname architect, the architect, man breaking them down, building them up and breaking them down yeah.
So today his left hand found its way through stahls defense from the outset, before a combination sent him to the canvas midway through the second round.
Stahl, who boasted two wins, and a draw from previous fights uh stood up again, but only made it back to the middle of the ring before to zoo finished him with his thunderous right hand, man to zeus power uh, you know it’s.
His powerful win came as predicted and arrived 30 years and two days after father, uh and world champion costa made his professional debut in melbourne.
So this is 30 years and two days after his father made his professional debut wow.
That’S awesome.
That’S right! Awesome! Uh! You know his brother described it as a as as flawless while world champion jeff horn, beaten tim two years ago, was left impressed with uh his power and poise uh.
You know early in the night liam wilson, who won a rematch with highly rated favorite joe uh uh in shock fashion.
So you know this is a great card man that that he was on man um.
It was an awesome, an awesome boat to watch and i’m glad i got to witness it today and i’m glad i got to bring this profile to you guys today, man uh shout out to james golly, hey guys, yeah how’s it going brother uh.
But yes, honestly, what a great, what a great debut, definitely taken, definitely taken after his father and brother yeah, the style, like, i said, other than being a southpaw he’s a south father.
I think they’re, i’m pretty sure they’re both right-handed guys orthodox, but again just the way that he’s calm in his um and his applied pressures very similar to his father.
What weight class is he? What weight class is this so so i believe i believe he was a flyweight before right, so uh numbers uh fly um.
I believe that’s like one.
Well, that’s like man like one eighteen, nineteen isn’t it no.
He looks like he looks.
He looks tiny.
Let’S just say that it does look tiny um, so flat flyweight is usually around um.
Oh man.
What is the weight? Uh? One q15.
I a lot of times.
You could judge them by like the little guys like their heads, barely go above the top ropes.
His shoulders are above the rope, so i think he might be a little bit more but anyway, we’ll we’ll.
The point is he’s a great boxer.
Yes, his professional debut had a stoppage in his professional, debut and uh.
You know just by his skills, obviously he’s his first fight as a pro um.
But yes, it is.
First fight is a pro man.
He passes the eye test so far.
He definitely.
He definitely does man um for sure man for sure from architect to destruct.
You know to destruction, man, that’s that’s what it is and it’s great honestly, i see a lot of good things going for him.
He definitely has the right people in his corner man.
You know his father world champ we got his is you know his brother who’s staying unbeaten right now, man, i believe, and uh honestly uh, what a great debut guys if you get a chance check it out, you’ll love it uh.
You know he.
He lived up to the hype and uh.
You know it’s good to see it’s good, to see that after a six year, hiatus to go and get your degree in architecture to just throw it away to get back in the boxing ring.
You know it uh.
It shows man that uh, i guess he’s, do he’s he’s following the right path.
Guys he’s definitely following the right path.
Uh.
I can’t wait to see more of him, we’ll let you guys know man when his next fights are coming up, but yeah in the meantime go check him out man, the key to the zoo.
You know multi-generational boxing family here uh, you know unbeaten younger unbeaten, older brother, father, you know a legend in the game and now we have his.
You know we have the youngest of the zoos to come man.
So it’s it’s great to see this.
