I’M speechless already hello boxing fans around the world.
Thank you for joining us on talk and fight.
Another great episode of knuckle up lined up uh, where we’re featuring some of the best fighters in the world who have worst records than me.
Honestly, you got to think of this these guys these guys have more fights, combined than probably like half the active fighters going right now, like these guys have been in the ring so many times man, each one of these guys has been in the ring like 300 Times, yeah that we’ve that we’ve done this week, yeah and um, you know what it’s thursday and i promised you the worst record i found and uh.
So this by worst record, we mean the fighter who has lost the most fights ever? Yes, okay.
Yes, that’s that’s! What i’m talking about um? You know you lost a few more than um than reggie strickland reggie, the man with three different names fighting under aliases.
So technically we don’t.
What do they say? We don’t technically know what his actual record is because he’s fought under all these different aliases yeah literally.
Take it literally taking fights like an hour before.
Oh hey, he called mr reliable he’ll he’ll get in here for sure yeah yeah, yeah 400 bucks should be good.
Yeah, whatever, whatever 100 bucks a round man – oh my gosh, um yeah.
So thank you for tuning in knuckle up fans.
Another great episode, happy thursday, everybody um and we’re going to uh we’re going to get right into it here with um.
The worst record that i found uh belongs to kristen late um, we’re gon na get right into it here with um [ Laughter, ] uh belongs to are we doing playback yeah we’re doing playback, okay, okay, so kristin late? Here we go.
You ready, yeah! I have now sorry: 12, wins.
279 losses.
Wow nine draws wow.
Yes, yes, yes um! You know his.
His career went from 2003 2018.
He spent 15 years um.
You know as uh as a journeyman man, um he’s a british former professional boxer who competed from 03 to 2018 in july of 2018.
He lost his 277th professional fight, which is known to be the most in boxing history.
Uh toppling the previous record, which was held uh since 2005 by reggie strickland [, Music, ] uh.
He was the debuting opponent for british title holders, tyrone nurse tommy, uh, coyle, uh, lewis, ritzen, and he also fought kevin mitchell and jerry matthews, among others.
Uh he’s featured in a chapter of the 2014 book titled journeyman, the other side of boxing business by mark turley uh late enjoyed one of the most memorable memorable victories in august of 2015 when he upset carl chadwick in memory of his late trainer, lenny woodhall, who Had died a few weeks before he retired in 2018, with a record of 12, 279 and 9 having been stopped only five times in his career following the announcement, tony bellow said that without guys like him, the pro game wouldn’t exist wow.
So yes, yes, guys, like i’ve, been saying: without these journeymen, these prospects wouldn’t get um.
You know they wouldn’t get the uh the fights they need to move forward.
That’S that’s! That’S it man and – and you know what these guys again and again get in there day after day 300 fights literally just just getting just getting owned man, but but not not not losing badly.
This guy’s got 279 losses, but only been knocked out five times.
That’S that’s pretty good man, for you know it’s it’s hard, it’s hard to talk about it, man, that’s that’s a lot of losses! Uh you know, strickland was the man for a long time until uh, until kristen laid here decided to lose a bunch more and um yeah.
So the worst record i found is um.
This gentleman kristen late uh, the boxing the boxing season, is once again underway and the websites magazines are filled with interviews and reports detailing the various hopes and aspirations of numerous ambitious fighters.
As you pour over the tales of warm weather, training camps and far away places and upcoming super fights spare a thought for the fighters who usually occupy the red corner, the journeyman guys, we can’t forget them without the journeyman boxing, wouldn’t be the same um.
You know kristin his attitude and value to the business is summed up perfectly by his final bout of you know of his career uh when he took on james jazza dickens on two days notice.
He both saved the promotion and provided dickens with a solid six round.
Workout having been stopped just four times in compiling his record of six 129 and six uh lightweight late, isn’t just the hardest working man in british boxing.
He is also undoubtedly one of the toughest so guys as much as we uh we joke about these records.
Realistically, these guys they’re workhorses man, you know if, if they were actual horses, we’d be putting uh we’d, be putting equipment on them and having them drag us around.
You know uh tearing up fields and and pulling wagons man.
These guys are the true workhorses of boxing, and without them you know our prospects wouldn’t get the workouts that they need to move forward, and you know and push them to be better and and make them the superstars that we believe that these prospects are going to Come and you know without these journeymen stuff, like this, wouldn’t happen, so you know what is we did this week, um talking about these guys with these horrible records, but you know what man i tip my hat to these guys because seriously to have 300 fights under Your belt win or lose it doesn’t matter, man, that’s 300 fights and there’s not many people that go down in boxing history with that many fights under their belt, nor mma uh.
You know like today today we’re lucky.
If we see a guy, who’s got 50 fights under his belt, you know, and – and it’s just goes to show you that you know these guys they’re dedicated to their craft and they truly are the journeymen of the sport and um.
You know myself and all the boxing fans out there definitely appreciate the uh effort that these guys have put forward in the ring um and and taking these fights last minute to save cards to save promotions uh.
You know to help these fighters move past where they’re at and push them on to the next level that they need to be pushed onto.
So yes, kristen lay.
You know reggie strickland, these, these guys they’re, journeymen, definitely journeymen in the sport uh, true pioneers of their craft and um.
You know the worst losing records in boxing and you know it’s uh it’s.
It is what it is man.
I don’t know what to say other than that.
It is what it is.
That’S what these guys are doing out here.
Um, there’s, there’s guys that are, you know still over 100 losses.
Now that we haven’t mentioned that um, you know, are still active today that are still boxing uh.
You know there’s a couple of guys that i’ve seen up in the 170s losing range right now that are like boxing week to week.
Man on on different cards just to uh, you know just to help these guys out uh.
You know there.
There are guys uh, who i found in my searches, who literally have to pay pay money out of their pocket to get on these promotions to fight.
Now, that’s that’s something else.
That’S that’s a topic to touch base on a whole other episode and we will get into that.
Yes, i did find things like that which is which is crazy.
You’D figure.
You know hey man, i want a box but you’re being told by the promoter.
The only way you’re gon na box is, if you pay us incredible um.
That being said, i did say i was going to have an honorable mention today.
The honorable mention is going out to a man by the name of eric crumble, uh people do say probably the worst boxer in history uh.
This gentleman has, he doesn’t have too many too many uh losses, it’s just.
He has all lawson zero wins.
Eric crumble is zero for 31 and all losses come by way of knockout, oh um, so 20 21 of his uh losses come in the first round and the next ten come in.
The second he’s been knocked out.
Every time he’s lost and he’s never been past.
The second round truly truly uh, that’s pretty bad uh.
You know he’s an american uh former boxer and notably one of the sports, most prolific in terms of consistent losses.
Uh, since his professional debut june 22nd 1990, he had participated in 32 fights and every single one ending in a knockout, first or second round.
In 13 years of boxing, trumbull has fought in six weight classes, with his most notable opponents being angel manfredi and antoine eccles.
Uh in 96, both of whom went to win regional and national championships he’s you know, he’s retired now he’s done his career is over uh.
You know 1990, 2003, 13 years, 31 losses.
Zero, wins all 31 coming by way of knockout, incredible wow.
If you thought i was speechless yesterday, yes, yes, i thought you were speechless yesterday, but uh.
I guess i’ve left these speeches today.
You have knocked me out.
Oh definitely definitely and uh yeah, so that being that being the week of um worse records in boxing history, tomorrow is female friday, and i have.
I have searched the web and found, i guess, a journey woman who is still active today, which we will talk about tomorrow: um, not quite the 100 losses, but uh definitely definitely uh, not not a winning record and uh.
We’Ll definitely talk about her tomorrow touch base because it is female friday, so we do have to uh.
We do have to touch on the females there and find one that has a really horrible record.
I have found one, i don’t know if it’s the worst, i will continue to search, but i have found some some some bad records in women’s boxing and, and i mean like women – don’t get a lot of fights.
You know what i mean.
There’S there’s, you know a lot of them got five six ten, maybe 20 max fights.
So you know it’s uh, it’s kind of hard to find women that got.
You know.
50.
60 70 losses, but i have found one that i believe is probably one of the worst and we will definitely uh will touch base on her tomorrow, but uh today today is thursday, and today is kristin late with our honorable mention of eric crumble um, notably the Two worst well, one of the worst records and probably the worst boxer, so [ Laughter, ], 31 losses.
31 knockouts never been past.
The second round and christian late, 12 wins 279 losses.
Nine draws alias mr reliable we’ve done it.
We’Ve done it’s been a great week of these uh wonderful, uh, wonderful records that i found and um.
I guess next week we’re back to uh new and upcoming young hungry undiscovered undefeated prospects, good yeah! Yes, yes, it’s good uh knuckle up fans thanks for tuning in you know what it is.
