Foreign [, Music, ] fight fans, thanks for tuning in to today’s episode of knuckle up with yours, truly Mike or and guys, we got a good one for you, a British light heavy by a man.
Man goes by Ezra Taylor.
My man Cedric’s here to talk with me about this cat Ezra Taylor, unleashing the power of this kid man, the Canon, the uh, the next big light heavyweight.
I guess we’ll say you know people are calling him that already you know the kids 5-0 right now.
Four knockouts, you know, he’s ranked 31 out of 95 in that UK division.
One, you know 1312 in the world, he’s ranked 329 guys he’s only 28.
The cannon Orthodox fighter Adam he’s coming off a TKO Victory.
Second round um mackovic.
This one was this weekend: man just passed: what a great fight Cedric! Let’S talk about this kid man, yeah man, he definitely passes the high test.
Can you hear me? Okay, yeah yeah.
I can hear it perfect, yeah yeah.
He definitely passes the eye test.
Um.
You know still early in his career but um from what he looked so far.
You know he definitely has a good job.
I like the way he mixes up his his punches.
His single punches have all mean intentions on them.
Like he’s kicking you out with every single punch um, so hopefully he keeps the stamina up to be able to to keep that effective aggression up and uh yeah and we’ll see if he can keep this up as he moves up in uh in competition.
Definitely you know the kid um.
You know he made a name for himself in the British amateur boxing circuit, uh being the first person to acquire five Regional titles.
At the same time, uh he turned Pro uh with Frank, Warren’s, Queensbury promotions.
Uh.
You know he won his finger.
Regional amateur titles, he’s now chasing bigger belts.
Uh, you know, Ezra who’s boxing heroes are Roy Jones, Jr and Andrew Ward uh.
You know he was selling the dreams of people not even having bought the dream and having been sold.
He walked in to a gym when he was in his early teens, but never expected to even compete as an amateur uh.
Let alone earn a professional contract with a Hall of Fame promoter um.
You know he started boxing when he was about 14, but he was only going to the gym once a week to keep fit.
Eventually, he had to end up sparring some guys who lived boxing, who were in the gym nights competing as amateurs uh, and he started getting his ass, whooped and uh.
You know he just wanted to be fit flinging skipping rope around tell his friends that he was in a boxing gym, hitting a bag.
He lost interest is but still use the gym.
Uh, you know to keep fit eventually got some heightened muscle.
I went back into that boxing gym when he was 19.
again for fitness and now the rest is history uh.
He went 23 as an amateur five Regional titles.
At the same time, uh you know this kid he’s.
Uh he’s.
Definitely definitely one to watch.
For you know, uh he’s trained he’s trained by um.
It slipped my mind right now: um well, we’ll get back to it, we’ll get back to it.
But yes, this kid, you know started out just doing it for fitness and not look at him earning money as a paid professional in the gym.
Uh.
What I do like about him, he uses that haitu’s Advantage uh.
He knows how to play that long game he’s got a hell of a left uh, you know and, like you said, he’s got a lot of intention when he’s throwing that thing, uh definitely hitting big.
You know he says that he’s the next thing to come out of this division.
Uh we’ll see you know it is a very stacked, stacked, uh.
You know: division man in the UK, let alone around the world and uh.
You know he was a sales account manager uh, you know not believing in this uh whole dream until bang he gets signed with the Hall of Fame promoter.
You know Queensbury promotions, Frank Warren.
Now he’s doing this thing: full-time uh! You know March 20th.
2020.
He made his professional debut stopping his opponent with a big left hook in the second round, securing his victory uh.
You know, and it’s not the first time we’ve seen him secure, uh, a victory with that big left man to be honest, uh.
He is trained by Ray Ricketts who coached him as an amateur at Bill, burrow Community Boxing Club and he’s managed by a former professional Costas, eventually um, you know, cost explosive strings put in a good word for him, uh and then Frank’s guy, you know, did their Research and after meeting uh him a couple times the deal was done and he would box on the Queensbury show in July of 2021.
That was his debut under uh Frank, Warren’s promotions, man uh, you know he’s got uh his kid’s got a lot of hope.
He’S really starting to improve.
He gets better and better with every fight that you watch and uh.
You know he’s planning to go 10-0 by 2024.
You know start off 20, 24, 10-0.
Looking to fight for a belt Senator.
What are your thoughts he’s? What’S his record right now, right now he’s five in all four chaos uh.
This fifth fight was just this past weekend and uh yeah.
He ended it in uh in pretty good fashion.
Man.
Well with these young prospects, I’m trying to do is um.
I try to visualize them a couple of years from now.
Just try to time.
You know, look, look in the future timeline and try to visualize where they would end up he’s 5-0 right now so another five years, uh fighting twice a year um.
So I’m assuming another five years, you know guy the guy’s uh better, be if it’d probably be gone by then and probably be of all too so it’s kind of hard to see where he would uh where he would test up.
But, like I said so far, he passes the eye test.
Definitely who anyways yeah there’s not really and right now the light heavyweight division is more.
I guess kind of top heavy, whereas that the top guy, like better beef and bivol are are are great, like their greatness, um, the rest of the division, there’s a few other few other competitors, but not so much in the rest of the top ten.
So he does have a chance to climb up in the ranks a little bit faster at light heavyweight um yeah.
Definitely it is a.
It is a pretty you know as he climbs up, though there will be uh.
There will be, like you know, certain certain guys that he’s gon na come up against right, because you know he is down there in the ranks right now, with with only five fights he’s ranked in the 300s uh yeah.
You are you know, and, and the King right now you got bills, will better be of Smith Smith, Jr, Ramirez uh.
You know there’s your top five uh, but as you go down the list, you know he’s gon na run into some uh, some veterans that definitely have some pop uh still left in the men that uh that have been around this game for a long time.
So it’s as much of this is a very exciting division.
It is uh, it is going to be a tough climate.
It’S not going to be an easy climb for him.
Um.
Definitely he’s gon na have to have some more guys put in front of him.
Uh he’s gon na have to get tested with some better opponents uh.
You know the guy that he fought this past weekend.
I believe uh, you know, hadn’t been put down and uh.
You know kind of same kind of record.
You know four and one 4-0 and uh.
You know.
Ezra Taylor comes out on top with the victory in that one uh with a wonderful uh TKO in that uh Second Round and uh yeah man, it was a.
It was a great showing guys if you haven’t seen it uh, look for it um.
You know TKO second round March 25th, this past weekend uh it was a great fight and uh.
It was on.
It was on the Andrew Kane and uh Bello Deckard.
So he was on the undercard of that uh, the Nathan Haney Jack Flatley yeah, so he uh he was.
He was in the just in the bottom of that card.
There uh, along with the uh.
You know Moses, saituma, uh, fight that we talked about yesterday.
Another big guy to be watching out for but uh.
Yes, today, Andrew Taylor, you heard it here: man, the Canon Mike or Cedric Ben passes.
Ri test guys be on the lookout for this kid man, the cannon.
You know what it is Cedric you got anything to say before we’re gone for the day.
Um, I’m saying I don’t know if you know of any any info.
I’M saying this.
Seeing this little quick, uh video between uh Ben Whitaker and Ezra Taylor are they? Are they rivals or is this I don’t know sure if they’re serious right now they’re kind of talking to each other? Well, it looks like uh.
It looks like they will be talking man because uh you know if they’re uh, you know what maybe maybe some.
Maybe it’s a fight for uh for this for this year.
Maybe it is a fight for this year, we’ll have to see uh well, actually yeah they’re, both young prospects, but it’s like this would be like nah, even though they’re, both early in your career, like they’re they’re, both like up and coming prospects, I don’t think they.
They, this is probably something that you want to build up for a pay-per-view in the future yeah.
Definitely because you know like Ben Whitaker, you know he’s 2-0 right now sitting at uh 24th in that late, heavy division in the UK uh and Ezra Taylor 5-0 uh.
You know sitting 31, so you know it’s definitely it’s definitely a fight.
That’S gon na happen.
Uh sooner.
It’S probably gon na happen sooner than later man, but but because of that uh it definitely might be um.
You know a rivalry that uh tends to grow uh over time, and you know it could be one of those history Making Triple Fights uh.
You know over a span of 10 years.
You never know but uh.
These guys are both in that division, both up and comers.
In that light, heavy division, man, the UK’s – got some uh pre-stack competition over there.
We do as well I’ll be profiling, some light heavy guys out of the UK and Canada and – and you know us and Australia and New Zealand we’ll do them all eventually, but yes, uh yeah.
That’S definitely that’s.
Definitely a clash.
That’S gon na have to happen.
Man uh, you know these guys are are just uh, you know neck and neck climbing up these ranks there Yeah man, they definitely are so.
Hopefully we get to see him um in the near future, not too far yeah.
Definitely, I think so.
Man, uh 2023 seems to be the breakout year here, man for uh for a lot of these up and coming prospects, so guys keep your eyes and ears peeled.
For you know all these new up-and-comers man we’ll be bringing them to you every week.
Man for you to watch guys thanks for tuning in it’s your man Mike and Cedric.
You know what it is I’ll see you next time same channel.
You know what it is: man, peace, foreign,
