Hello boxing fans around the world.
Thank you once again for joining us on another episode of neil the deal featuring, someone screaming kid and neil the deal himself.
That’S it how you doing graham hi how’s everybody going how’s it going.
You got a party going on over there, neil it seems like it.
I don’t know i i i’m trying to figure that out, but uh.
I’M sure the producers will figure that out momentarily there.
You go yeah nice to see you graeme thanks for thanks for having me out tonight and yeah.
We are going to continue with the uh canadian fighters this week and tonight guys thanks for coming out, checking out the show.
We got a real good one.
One of my personal personal favorites over the last two three four five years so to speak.
I’Ve been really watching this guy because he was a former world champion and i near future he’s going to have a chance to become a world champion again.
So uh guys tonight we’re going to be talking about david lemieux, that’s david lemieux! He has a wicked uh nickname they call him demolitioner the demolitioner, that’s a good one.
I like that.
That’S a heck of a nickname, that’s great, and if you watch any of his fights guys, he demolishes guys in the ring this guy has power beyond power.
So he’s he’s one of those guys.
That’S uh he’s been around quite a long time, but uh he’s really been been getting somewhere in the last couple of years and we’ll just go through some of his stats and some of his stuff tonight.
So so david lemieux was born december 22nd.
1988.
That makes him 32 years old he’s out of montreal quebec, canada.
So there’s a lot of fighters, a graham that are out of montreal.
The fight the fight scene is real big in montreal.
Eh yep did you do your friend, mr hayashi? There you go, anyways yeah, the uh.
The fight scene has been really big and they have a big big fan base in montreal and uh david’s at the top of the heap.
There he’s uh, really really uh well known in in in montreal and in quebec and uh he’s fight.
He’S fought there.
Many many many times to packed crowds.
The bell center, all the big venues, so uh we’ll go over some of his stuff here.
He uh he’s fought in the three divisions, he’s fought in the light: middleweight division, the middleweight division and he presently fights in super middleweight.
He recently moved up the super middleweight, so uh, that’s really good, because he was having a bit of a hard time.
Uh sticking to that weight of uh 160 at middleweight, so i think he’s he’s more suited for the uh 168 super middleweight uh class, so good for him.
He’S moving up his uh career started in 2007 and he is presently an active fighter and he is the former ibf middleweight champion of the world uh.
He got that title in 2015.
, so he’s presently ranked in the super middleweight division number two by the wbc number.
Three by the wba number three by the wbo and number seven by ring magazine, he had a fantastic amateur career as we all know, uh.
I was watching him, he didn’t go to the olympics.
He decided to go pro, but his uh, his amateur career, was really really good.
He had 103 bouts total of which he had 91 wins out of 103, which gave him 12 losses as an amateur.
So he began boxing at nine years old and into his amateur career.
He was the four-time canadian junior national champion, which is uh, which is awesome in itself.
He was also the three-time canadian amateur champion so guys check him out.
He’S uh he’s a real special fighter here out of canada and uh he’s one of my favorites.
I think you’ll really enjoy him, so he moved into the pro ranks uh.
He turned pro at 18 years old and he currently has 46 boats under his belt, of which he has 42 wins with 35 knockouts and four losses all right, four losses, that’s it uh.
That gives him a knockout percentage of 83.
So he’s very heavy-handed, as you can see, he’s got a lot of knockout power, he’s very he’s very well known for his devastating punching power.
Any of his fights guys.
If you check him out, he throws he throws bombs pretty much.
The whole fight he’s he’s got a wicked right hand, he’s knocked out numbers and numbers of guys with his right hand, but uh overall he’s got excellent hand, speed for a guy his size, his hand, speed is really good and he has that killer instinct.
You know what i mean, graham, where he uh he gets a guy hurt and he devastates him that the demolisher he demolishes the guy.
He goes right at him.
He doesn’t uh, he doesn’t.
He doesn’t hang out, he cuts off the ring really well and once he gets a guy hurt, he he usually ends up with a knockout he’s he’s got like i say, a lot of punching power, so he’s currently trained by mark ramsey, mark ramsey out of montreal Quebec, very famous trainer and uh he was uh previously trained by our old friend russ, amber all right, so he’s got some really good.
Uh trainers, uh that have that have helped him throughout his career and it it totally shows with his with his with his knockout power and his totals to date.
Now, with these montreal fighters, as we’re talking about a lot of them, seem to have a number of fights in in quebec before they get into the uh the world stage.
So third, his first 34 fights were staged in montreal quebec at different venues around uh around quebec, but most recently he’s been getting uh he’s been getting into bigger fights over the last uh three four five years, so to speak and he’s really been making a name For himself around the world and within the uh, the middleweight and super middleweight divisions, so there’s a lot of guys out there that are uh concerned that he’s gon na, be somebody that they’re gon na have to look out for real, soon again and uh.
I truly believe that he’s got a a really good shot at being a uh a world champion again in uh 2014 we’ll go over some of his uh title wins 2014.
He won the wbc nabf middleweight title and then in june 2015 he won the world title.
The ibf middleweight title of the world, but later that year in october 2015, he ran into triple g, oh right, to defend the title and unfortunately he lost the title to triple g uh, which is was a really good fight but um, as we all know, triple G is a is a very, very well-schooled fighter on every level so um after that fight may 2016.
He won the wbo nabo middleweight title and then in may 2017 he won the wbc continental americas and the wbo intercontinental middleweight titles, so he’s winning some minor titles.
After that world title, but again he only had four losses: all right and uh.
They were all against present or former world champions.
You know what i mean, graham, so i believe one was uh billy, joe saunders.
He lost to billy joe saunders.
He lost a triple g uh.
He lost to um alcine, a guy named alcine and uh marco antoine antonio rubio.
He lost to him too so, but those are the only blemishes on his uh on his record other than that he’s been absolutely spectacular.
Every fight, guys that he’s in he is so exciting to watch, he’s really really uh.
Something like i really love watching him anytime he’s fighting now.
Those are basically his notable fights.
If you guys want to go and check him out uh, he did fight another guy named glenn tapia, which was a really good fight.
If you want to check that out, he fought triple g, madison square garden and uh.
That was a pay-per-view event, i believe is.
He was he’s made a pay-per-view event now and uh, and marco antonio rubio was another great fight.
Now he’s been uh promoted by i and the tiger management out of montreal and he’s co-promoted by golden boy.
So so he’s getting he’s gon na get a chance at some point to uh to get another shot at a world title, some of the guys that i think he might be uh up against.
He really wants to fight world champions because he’s at that level now he’s got to the left.
The world champion level.
He guys i was looking at was like maybe caleb plant might be, might be a guy that he could uh go against uh carlos gongor gone gora.
He’S he’s another champion that they might set him up with and he’s you know he.
He would really like to fight the winner of canelo and saunders, not only as a rematch against uh saunders if he wins, but he’s always expressed that he really would like to fight canelo uh.
Any time he’s he’s basically put out the uh put it out that he loved to fight canelo.
So any any way you slice it he’s got he’s got a great chance to become a world champion.
Again, he’s been a total blast watching guys.
If you want to check out any of his fights, keep your eyes out for him.
He never disappoints in the ring and he uh he’s a knockout artist, guys i, like he’s very aggressive and uh he likes to go for the knockout.
So uh he’s it’s exciting.
His knockouts are very exciting, so best of luck to you uh in the future uh there’s.
Definitely, i think the best is yet to come, for him.
He’S probably got uh a good shot in the next year or two say to uh another title or get another title shot and uh we’ll be looking out for you, david lemieux, you’ve been had a fantastic career.
Thank you very much for everything.
It’S been absolutely awesome and uh hope you guys will check out david lemieux some of his fights and enjoy them just as much as i have so.
Thank you very much for coming out watching the show tonight really appreciate it and uh.
I guess we’ll be talking tomorrow: agram 6 30 eastern standard time.
That is correct.
We have an early start and uh just like to say a quick hello to carl over in the uk.
Thanks for joining us uh, as you noticed uh.
Neil did note that billy joe saunders did did in fact beat our boy and then we, but you know what i’ll bet our boy’s getting better, not bitter and uh.
Looking forward to another title shot as neil says, so thanks very much yeah, that’s it.
Let’S say uh i’d like you know, even if uh, if saunders ends up losing to canelo, maybe we can have the rematch david lemieux against billy, joe saunders.
You know four or five years later, we’ll see how that works out, and that would be a great fight.
I really think that would be a great fight any and he really needs to fight he’s up and uh he’s up with the world champion uh guys now, so he really needs to stay on that level and fight guys for uh for for championship belts moving forward.
So, let’s just hope that golden boy and uh and the guys there in montreal can put it all together for him and we can uh see him on a on a pay-per-view card sooner than later yeah.
I hope so too.
That’S a good guy deserves it.
Absolutely absolutely he’s he’s a great canadian boy.
I got ta like him he’s one of my favorites david lemieux super middleweight nice.
I like him, couldn’t make it in hockey, but he’s a great boxer all right, graham.
Well, thanks a lot uh thanks a lot guys for coming out thanks for the likes the shares, the comments and uh punch that notification bell.
