Hello talk and fight fans.
Thank you for joining us once again for another episode of neil a deal on talk and fight featuring none of the old deal himself, who tonight is going to be talking dynamite hey good evening, graham, how are you thanks for coming out and, having me out here Hope you guys all had a nice weekend.
It’S really nice to see you thanks for coming out to the uh neil the deal show and uh the talk and fight fans thanks for coming by and checking me out, really appreciate it now.
Uh we’ll talk quickly about the weekend.
There was a bunch of fights.
I did watch a bunch.
I know um.
I wanted to congratulate virgil, ortiz jr on his big knockout win against maurice hooker.
That was a bit of a step up for him, so it was good that he uh he passed the test and he’s looking to uh to pretty much go into uh, possibly a title fight.
Graham, i don’t know personally if he would be ready, but uh we’re just i don’t know he wants to fight terence crawford.
I don’t think that’s quite a good idea right now, uh there’s a couple other guys, i’m going to talk about a guy later on.
In the uh, at the end about who, i think, virgil, ortiz jr next opponent could be and uh and yeah – and there was there – was a bunch of great fights this weekend.
So i hope you guys had a great time watching the fights, because i surely did now we’re starting off the new week.
Uh we’ve been uh flying around the world, which has been a total blast going around the world is always a fun time.
You know it.
Uh at any time so uh we’ve we’ve done the philippines.
We’Ve we’ve done the united states right, graham we’ve done mexico, so uh.
Now now we’re gon na move into uh we’re gon na move into the uk and talk about some uk fighters.
There’S a whole bunch of uk fighters and we all know about the english.
You know how tough they think they are they’re, always better than everybody else, as we all know, but uh apparently you know there are some really good fighters coming out and funny enough.
There, quite a number of them are in the heavyweight division.
The heavyweight division for years has been a little.
You know we don’t have our tysons and holyfields and uh guys of that sort in the division anymore.
It’S that i always found it to be the best division, because it’s the biggest guys um but anyways.
Oh, oh.
We all know that the irish are the toughest sure right he’s killed wearing little leprechauns or no.
You know what i mean: little leprechauns, those irish guys, but anyways yeah, so um there’s a lot of big heavyweights coming out out of the uk.
So we’re going to talk about a young heavyweight tonight, who’s been uh, who’s been blazing up the uh, the latter in the last few years, and his name would be daniel, dubois, guys daniel dubois he’s a british boxer.
His nickname is dynamite right on mike uh, so um yeah dynamite is uh is his nickname, his full name.
His full birth name is daniel raphael, dubois and uh.
He also has another nickname that his buddies.
Apparently, since he grew up, they call him triple d kind of like triple g, triple d right: daniel dynamite, dubois triple d.
So that’s another little nickname his buddies like to use when they’re out having a few pops.
I guess you know so he was born september.
6Th 1997 that makes him 23 years old.
So he’s a real young lad here, but uh keep your eye on him guys this guy, i’m telling you, i think, graham, he has the potential to uh to do some big things in the next year or so, depending on how these other big fights go.
These big heavyweight fights, i would not be surprised at all to see him get a title shot at some point.
He’S definitely uh he’s.
Definitely he has the skill.
There’S no doubt about him.
We’Re going to talk about that, so he uh he fights in again.
He fights in the weight class of heavyweight and he’s known to be uh, he’s known to be one of the brightest prospects coming out of the heavyweight division.
He has been for quite a while and uh, so i kind of been keeping my eye on him and uh because he just he just intrigued me with his size and his speed his hand, speed he’s, got he’s, got he’s heavy-handed like he can knock you out.
No problem he’s he he’s very tenacious.
He cuts off the ring really well.
He he’s a really really well-rounded fighter.
Now his he has a sister he’s.
He he has a sister who is also a boxer and she’s won multiple youth world titles.
So we’ll keep an eye on her as well.
Uh he’s one of 11 children, so they come from a very big family and he had a pretty good amateur career guys he had 75 fights, but i don’t have any win and loss totals for him.
So if anybody out there in the uk knows what his were for his amateur career, that would be great love to hear that, so he had the 75 fights as an amateur.
He basically started at nine years old, his father again, his father took him to the gym because he was getting in a lot of trouble.
Basically so his dad figured if you want to, if you want to go around and be like that, we’ll just take you to the gym, then you can, you can take it out on.
You know athletically instead of yeah, you know so his dad took him out to the gym and um and he really enjoyed it so he’s he he’s won multiple titles as a child.
So we’ll just go over that um those titles and awards that he’s won when he was in his amateur days.
He won two english school boy titles.
He won two junior aba titles.
He won a british senior title, which i guess is when he was like a little older, maybe 15 14 15.
uh.
He won the.
He won two european youth gold medals, all right and he was a five-time national junior champion and uh british amateur champion.
So i mean as a as an amateur he.
He really really did well as far as um, as, as you know, honing his his boxing skills and stuff of that sort, and he’s he’s really come into his own.
Now, like i, i recently was watching a bunch of his fights and uh in the last year or two, and i just kept my eye on him and i i think he’s got a really good shot coming up.
He was also on the great britain olympic team and he was planning graham to go to the 2020 tokyo olympics for uh, for the uk for great britain, but because i guess of what’s happened here, he decided to turn pro uh.
He he well.
He was already a pro, but he turned pro and he decided that he wasn’t gon na go to the olympics, so he he didn’t go to the olympics, all right, so his pro totals to date are.
He has a total of 16 fights.
Graham, he has 14 by knockout, like i said, he’s a heavy-handed heavyweight and he has the one loss which was his most recent fight.
So we’ll talk about that in a minute that gives him a ko percentage of 88, which is which is pretty good.
You know 88, i mean 14 out of 15.
, so and yeah.
You know and he’s he’s he hasn’t been fighting up until the last fight he’s been fighting tough guys, but not really the the the cream of the crop heavyweights.
If you know what i mean they’re they’re, slowly bringing them up to that and i think he’s going to be getting a shot in the next year.
I would say to year and a half if he continues uh going the way he’s going because uh, like i said when you see him fight, you’ll know what i’m talking about he’s a big guy and big guys.
Sometimes their speed is what what holds them back because they’re just not fast enough.
I mean that’s why tyson was always like short stocky, big and tough, and he had he he’d out speed.
You know hit.
You know everything right.
So this guy reminds me of tyson with some of the power he’s got power in both hands and uh, and when he gets a guy hurt, he really jumps on him and uh.
That’S it.
He basically takes them out, at least to date, so uh, let’s go over some.
His first fight was in april 2017, actually his first pro fight and uh.
He won his first title that he won was the southern area heavyweight title in the uk.
Now i didn’t understand the southern area.
Graham, do you know anything about how it works in england, southern area and all that? Well, i would imagine that’s uh london area, i’m talk, i guess they’re talking about the south of england, not southern europe uh, but no, i don’t know the boxing right federation well enough to know to know what area they’re talking about yeah.
No, i was in the same boat there i i kind of did some digging and stuff.
I was just curious.
If you had heard about a gram, i didn’t really think he would have because i’ve never heard of it, but anyways the southern area.
The the council, that does the boxing in the uk has split the country up into seven counties.
So there’s seven counties that uh award uh boxers in the different divisions uh.
The titles.
Do you understand so he was.
He was the heavyweight champion of the southern area, um and there’s six other counties that they’ve they’ve cut the country up into chunks so that you know so he he’s he that that’s.
That was his first title that he won in 2017, so in 2018 he won the english uh heavyweight championship title, which is a big one.
2019.
He won the wbo european european heavyweight title 2019.
He won the british heavyweight title.
You know he’s doing not too bad.
This is the first couple of years right off the hop and then uh.
He was motoring right along, so he had three belts under under under his uh under his arm and then he fought a guy uh.
It was november 2020 and it was the first defense of all those titles.
So he had the british title, the commonwealth title in the wbc silver heavyweight title and the wbo intercontinental title so actually had four titles and they were all up uh, all up and uh, and they were vying for the vacant european title right.
So he fought um.
I believe the guy’s name was joyce joyce uh, mr jones, joe joyce, that’s who it was joe joyce.
I remember him from the 2016 olympics.
He was uh a gold medal winner in 2016 for uh, the uk in the olympics.
So that’s where i had heard his name so unfortunately uh that fight didn’t go so well for daniel uh.
He ended up a eye injury during the fight.
He also had a fracture of his orbital bone in a portion of his face and he had to uh.
Basically bow out because of injury, but um the fight was a really really good fight.
It was his toughest fight, so um going forward.
I understand that he’s gon na be they’re really pushing him hard.
He’S he’s his promoter as frank warren over in the uk and uh they’re, not they’re they’re.
You know all fighters usually have a loss.
Everybody gets a loss.
So it’s not that big of a deal really he’s so young and uh.
The potential is amazing.
The potential with uh with daniel is fantastic guys, so we’re going to go over some of the notable fights guys that you might want to check out with daniel dubois and keep an eye on him.
Graham, i’m telling you this british boxer has a really good shot.
I mean who’s the champ now british boxer tyson fury right battle of britain coming up battle of britain, joshua fury right so the winner of that he might get a chance to fight the winner.
Of that you know, i’m hoping! I think i think that he he could surprise some people, i’m telling you he’s no pushover by any means.
So the notable fights that uh that i watched that i’ve seen him fight are uh the one against joe joyce, which unfortunately, he was injured and had to bow out uh.
That was recently november 2020.
.
He also fought a really good battle against a guy named.
He basically won all these by knockout tom little uh daniel dubois versus tom little daniel dubois versus nathan.
Gorman was another one.
He he he made real quick work.
He’S made quick work of most of the guys that he’s fought against just the last two fights he’s had.
I think one went seven rounds and the other one was a ten rounder uh and then a guy named ebenezer teja from ghana, ebenezer teja.
It was a really good fight, so um like i said he hasn’t really got up to the caliber of a tyson, fury and joshua and andy ruiz, jr or anything but he’s on the cusp.
So he’s an up-and-comer guy.
That’S really gon na make a difference going forward.
Like i said i have from what i see personally, i think he can.
He can beat any of those guys, graham you know, so to uh to end it all up.
We were talking about the uh, the virgil ortiz thing too, just to end the segment here tonight and uh.
Now that he’s now that he’s he’s won that fight against maurice hooker they’re they’re looking for a a new, and you know another fight for him and and the guys that are looking at he’s, looking at aerospin, suspense, jr and and also um, and also uh.
Terence crawford right, so i don’t know what they’re gon na do, because he’s kind of out of he’s at a crossroad now either goes right to the top or he just kind of.
But i did find a guy that i thought might be a really good opponent.
For him and he’s from kazakhstan, he was an olympic uh gold, medalist and uh he’s ten to know with six ko’s.
His name is dan daniar, yelasianoff, uh, yellow, yellow.
Have you heard of this gentleman, graham at all? I have not yet yeah danny r yella sienoff check them out guys.
This could be virgil ortiz’s next opponent at least.
I think it would be a good opponent, the guy’s, a great fighter.
I mean he even has his own postage stamp in kazakhstan.
So i was like yeah, you know what i mean they’ve already they’ve already, given him the award up, giving him a postage stamp so and he’s 10-0.
.
So maybe that would be somebody that virgil ortiz’s camp there at the uh golden boy productions, oscar de la hoya, i’ll look into that and i’m sure they’ll take care of that.
But there’s going to be some really good fights coming up guys, keep your eyes peeled for them, we’ll let you know as they come and uh thanks a lot graham, really appreciate it.
Guys look out for daniel dubois dynamite, big heavyweight british guy, i’m telling you he could.
He could be a shocker.
He could be the uh, the upset guy, if you know what i mean so we’ll keep an eye on daniel good luck to you, daniel.
If you see the episode thanks a lot for the great career so far best of luck to you in the future, hopefully uh everything goes well and we’ll see you again soon thanks a lot graeme.
