Hello boxing fans around the world welcome to another great episode of neil a deal on talk and fight featuring none other than neil.
The deal himself joining us live in the studio today, all the way from toronto, and i believe, you’re at fishing today, but we’re not going to talk about fishing we’re going to talk about boxing.
What do you got for us, neil, hey good evening? Graham? How are you yeah? I was out doing a little ice fishing today.
It was such a beautiful day, so yeah i got a little red in the face from the sun.
It was all sunny, but hey we’re not talking about fishing.
Like you said we’re talking about boxing, so let’s talk a little more about these uh filipino uh fighters, the up and comers the guys to look out for in the philippines – and i got a real good one here for us, graham uh, the guy we’re going to Talk about guys and gals tonight.
His name is mark magsayo, mark mcsale, all right uh, his nickname is magnifico magnifico.
So that’s it.
That’S a pretty interesting one.
I like that mark magnifico, magsayo yeah, that’s pretty cool, so uh mark’s! Full name is jaisal mark arula, mag sayo all right, so he just changed it.
I guess to mark mike sale.
He was born june 22nd 1995, which makes him 25 years old.
All right so he’s uh he’s a pretty young guy.
Uh he’s from a city in the philippines called tagged tag balaran city bohol philippines, so that is the city he’s from in the philippines and uh.
I watched a bunch of his fights today this afternoon and wow he’s uh he’s he’s a real aggressive fighter.
This guy really aggressive.
I was actually shocked at how aggressive he is.
He just basically chased everybody around the ring and he’s got a he’s.
Got a lot of punching power.
He’S got a lot of speed.
He’S got a lot of combination fight.
He he was.
He was like just flying on everything.
His footwork thing, too guys were trying to run away from him, but he would just corner them and keep him in there and he was.
He was really whacking him and hitting him hard, and he was he was amazing.
I thought wow this kid’s going to be something else, so you know make sure you guys all take a look at mark and uh.
Mr mag sale and uh check him out.
He he’s he’s amazing, so the division in the weight class that he’s fighting in his featherweight his career started.
His pro career started in 2013 to present, so he is presently fighting uh.
He began boxing at eight years old, all right and uh as an amateur uh.
He had over 200 fights as an amateur, so uh he’s got a lot of experience in the ring over the years and uh he’s he’s basically one of the best filipino fighters that was coming up as an amateur and now he’s really propelled that career with with His pro career he’s propelled, it really really well like i said he had about 200 bouts and he was a four-time amateur boxing champion of the annual amateur boxing association of the philippines.
They called the abap amateur boxing association of the philippines annual amateur boxing association.
So i guess this is an annual thing, obviously, because it says angle um and he was a four-time uh champion in the featherweight division and in those four right in those in those four uh tournaments that he was.
He was uh one of the very best he was named best boxer of uh twice.
He was named best boxer twice of uh of those of those bouts.
So that’s uh, that’s those are some pretty high accolades for for a kid that’s just uh coming up.
He is married now he did get married and uh he’s uh recently.
I don’t know if it’s really recent, but he was suspended for some reason i wasn’t able to find out, but maybe if anybody out there knows why mark got suspended by the california state boxing commission and he will be reinstated on, i believe it’s april, 9th or 7Th of this year 2021 – so i don’t know what that was all about, but um apparently right now he is, i guess, so we’re gon na uh talk about his pro uh totals they’re fantastic uh he’s had a total of 21 fights and he has 21 wins.
So he is undefeated as a professional undefeated, graham yeah, and he has 14 knockouts, which gives him a knock 67.
Basically, two-thirds of his fights he’s knocked out his opponent so and the other ones have gone to split decisions.
Uh 33 of them went to split decisions or unanimous decisions, so he’s undefeated uh.
That would be what graham seven years undefeated right.
So that’s uh, that’s a long time to be undefeated uh.
He signed with uh apl.
I believe it is that uh boxing promotional company, when he first started back in 2013 uh, but he has recently in 2019 uh decided that sorry 2018 he’s he signed with uh now boxing promotions.
Now so that’s who’s, uh taking care of him.
Now is now so there you go.
He presently holds a belt okay, he holds the wbc, slash, abc featherweight title and he’s had that title since 2019.
He also won some youth titles, uh, featherweight, youth titles and uh.
Apparently, he’s very well known in the philippines, he uh people really know who he is um and he’s he’s making his way up the ladder he hasn’t quite uh reached the world title belts.
He doesn’t, he hasn’t, had any world title fights as of yet for say the wbc wba ibf or the wbo championships, but i believe that is going to be in his future for sure so.
Keep your eye on mark uh, mag, sale and i’m sure he’s going to come up with some big fights.
He, like i say, he’s undefeated, so he’s got to get a chance at some at some point.
They got to give him a chance right.
Um.
If you continue being undefeated eventually you’re gon na get there, you know so he’s really close he’s, like i say he’s ever since he was a child, he’s been nothing but a winner and uh he’s won at every level that he’s fought at and uh.
He continues to win, so i think he’s he’s one of the guys again that we need to look out for from the philippines and and so uh.
If you get a chance, guys check him out we’ll look at a a couple of his fights that i looked at today that were really good uh and the most recent one was mag sale versus rigo berto hermosilio, which is a mexican fighter.
It was october 4th 2020 and uh.
That was a fantastic fight.
It went all the way i’ll.
Just let you know so, there’s a lot of boxing in there and it was a good battleground like it was his hardest fight to date for sure for sure.
So um that guy from mexico gave him a real battle, but he prevailed in the end and he took the win so good good on you.
Mark nice work buddy! That’S the way to do it.
You know he looked like he was getting down in that fight.
A little bit graham, but then man he just came back with a he.
He i guess, because he’s just he’s got a lot of heart.
You know i’ve noticed that the philippine fighters have a lot of heart abraham yeah.
They really do.
I mean every every time.
I’Ve been watching them fight they just they.
They have a lot of heart.
They just they they’re like canadians like us, we got a lot of.
Oh that’s how we are.
We win world wars, you know what i mean so anyways.
That was a great fight.
The other two that i watched were versus chris aviolos, that was an american guy april 23rd, 2016 and then magazine versus paya, utak august 29th, 2019.
.
So the three that i watched, fantastic uh, a couple of them were title fights.
Actually, maybe all three of them were title fights, um and, and he he came out on top on all of them.
So congratulations uh, congratulations, mark and hopefully that uh things go well for you in 2021.
That suspension is obviously over in less than a month.
So i guess you’ll be back in the states fighting again looking forward to seeing you if you’re watching out there buddy thanks a lot best of luck to you, you’re really uh you’re really really doing well, so keep it up.
Man and uh, hopefully we’ll uh, we’ll see you real soon.
You know what i’m saying so.
