Hello talking fight fans around the world welcome once again to friday night edition of neil the deal starting at its special time.
6 30 eastern standard time here in toronto, welcoming uh, especially our filipino friends, who’ve, been tuning in for the past week, as we do a quick run-through of some very exciting fighters coming out of the philippines.
These days and being highlighted by neil himself.
Who do you have for us today, neil hey good evening, graham nice, to see you again thanks for having me out, really appreciate it as usual good evening guys? Yes, thank you very much for the great response with this uh with the filipino fighters.
Uh we’re going to continue this for the next little bit, so i hope you’re enjoying it uh again we’re gon na deal with the filipino fighters, the up and comers and the guys that are looking like they’re gon na be uh.
Something to look out for in the real near future, if not already, they already are so yeah we’re gon na uh we’re going to start it up tonight with a guy named raymart, gabalo, raymart gabalo.
All right, i understand it might be pronounced.
Uh gabaio might be gabaio, so raymark gabaio uh, his middle name, is grande grande, so it’s raymar grande rabio and his nickname is the assassin which is a that’s a cool name.
I, like that one, the assassin i oh yeah, you know you’re gon na – have a name you might as well make it cool like that.
So i like that uh this fighter, i i checked him out and wow.
He is phenomenal.
Graham, this kid is amazing.
So we’re going to go over some of his uh, some of his stats, some of his uh, his pro stuff, a little bit of his amateur stuff as usual and uh, and some of his notable fights tonight so guys.
If you want to see a real good up and coming filipino fighter, this guy is absolutely amazing.
Flashy uh punching power.
He he’s got it all he’s got the defense he’s got wicked.
Uh he’s got wicked body punching abilities and combinations that were just amazing.
So we’ll talk a little bit about him again.
His name is raymart gallo a was born august 24th, 1996.
So that makes him 24 years old and he’s from a town called palomolo.
So i’m sure that’s a town there in the philippines and uh, hey, maybe one day, we’ll visit, you never know you never know so.
Um his career started his pro career started in 2014 and to present so he is an active fighter as we speak and uh he’s definitely uh he’s.
Definitely somebody that i’m looking at thinking he this this guy is gon na this guy’s gon na make a big move from what i see on the on the notable fights that we’re gon na talk about he’s dominating, graham, like i’m talking major dominating he.
He has an aggressive fight style.
If you know what i mean, he goes at guys like relentless and he he’s he’s able to to bob and weave and get away from the shots.
His defense is good.
He’S got a very, very good pedigree training, whoever’s, training him.
You know is uh really doing a good job with uh with raymart, so it’s fantastic stuff.
Absolutely so right now he’s fighting in the uh bantamweight and super bantamweight divisions as those are, the the divisions and weight classes that he fights in and he holds presently holds the wbc interim bantamweight title which he he won in 2020 and he previously held the wba Interim bantamweight title in 2018, so he’s got the wbc and the wba at different times.
So he’s uh he’s he’s a world champion and he’s a young kid, like i say, 24 years old and uh we’re i’m gon na really be looking out for this one.
Graham this guy, this guy really impressed me a lot big time now.
The thing that we’ve been talking about over the last few uh days with these filipino fighters is they do fight quite often in that asian pacific league.
So i just kind of looked at.
I was kind of interested to see how many fights raymart had in the philippines as compared to other parts of the world, so i found that he had 19 fights within the philippines out of his uh, his pro fights he had four in the united states now And one in mexico, so the majority of his fights again have been in the philippines, but the recent fights graham the more recent ones because he’s getting some notoriety, i’m sure around the world with with he’s a world champion, he’s he’s getting the bigger fights he’s he’s On under cards of the big fights in the states, so he’s really one to look out for guys like really so.
His pro totals, let’s go over.
His pro totals right now.
His pro totals are 24 fights, graham, so he’s uh he’s got 24 fights and he has 24 wins, graham wow, so he’s 24-0 fantastic raymart, that’s awesome! 24-0.
He’S got 20 kos with that gram, like i said, he’s got amazing punching power, so 20 kills out of 24 fights.
That gives him a ko percentage of 88 and he’s fought 73 rounds.
So basically, if you divide that it’s like three rounds per fight, so he’s making quick business of his opponents and in in play in blazing fashion, man like like just wicked the guy he’s, he’s really good.
So talk about a little more.
We turned pro in 2014 and he went on to win his first 18 bouts straight when he got his first title, shot on the uh, 19th bout and uh and he did fantastic.
He won the title.
You know we’re going to go over that um and he’s he kind of.
He reminds me of like remember that old song rocky eye of the tiger – graham oh yeah, of course – yeah for some reason, i’m watching the fights guys and he’s got that eye of the tiger.
I think you know what i mean like when you watch him fight.
He’S just he’s really focused and the thing i really really liked about him was at the end of every fight, graham and – and i did look into it like i watched a whole bunch – he is a very, very kind individual, like he, after every single fight.
He goes right over to his opponent, no matter what uh state he’s in most of them are on the canvas, as you can see like not getting up and he’s a very concerned, uh fighter for the other fighter safety and when, when they do come around, he You can see that he he hugs them.
He probably talks to them and says you know whatever.
He says he seems like a really nice kid.
You understand.
So he to me it was very impressive.
I was very impressed by him.
So let’s go over his notable fights uh, he had the uh, the uh gabalo caballo versus uh rodriguez, emmanuel rodriguez, which was december 19th 2020.
That was the the most recent fight.
Amazing, graham thing with that fight, though, is i, when you guys watch it.
There was a big controversy about that fight that um he he won the fight and won the title.
He didn’t have his best performance to be honest with you, so that’s one you guys! Might want to look at then you can make your own determination from there, but there was a little bit of controversy in regards to him being given the win when uh rodriguez.
That was a really good fight to watch man.
That was that was really good.
I mean he was the aggressor, but rodriguez held his own big time and uh and i’ll just leave it at that.
It was some big surprises in that one anyways.
For me, uh gabaio versus uh, stephen young, was another good fight march 23rd.
2018.
.
Great fight.
You might want to check that out.
Another title fight and the gabaio versus uh marnat kapoot compute, was another great fight.
I watched today um with him any of his fights, like i said, he’s got 20 20 knockouts and 24 fights so and they they’re like two.
Three four rounders.
You know most of them some some longer some one rounders, some ten rounders.
You know but uh you guys.
Really i’m telling you out of the philippines and around the world.
There are so many good fighters that are coming out and i’m really i’m really looking forward to you know looking into these guys and checking them all out, because, like uh i like i said i would have never known about these filipino fighters really, unless we decided To do this, uh this uh fighters of the philippines sort of uh episodes.
So thanks a lot guys.
I i i’m looking forward to uh all your new fights that are coming up.
All your the you know the stuff that your future fights raymart i’ll, be looking out for you.
God bless you buddy and uh we’re over here in toronto, canada and yeah we’re keeping an eye on you, man, so uh keep it up.
Keep up the good work.
Keep up the good fighting and uh guys check them out thanks again for coming.
I really appreciate it and uh.
I guess we’ll see them on monday.
You guys are gon na be off for the weekend and uh stay safe, stay warm, have a nice weekend and uh enjoy yourselves out there and we’ll see.
You then monday at seven.
Take care of yourselves thanks very much.
Neil thanks uh for bringing us up to speed on uh such a great young fighter.
I didn’t realize he was undefeated uh and i certainly didn’t realize he had a high percentage of knockouts among those uh wins, that’s fantastic stuff, i’m going to check them out! I’M curious in your research from the philippines.
Have you found any women’s fighters because international women’s day is coming up on monday we have a big uh all-female card lined up this evening on uh the zone.
I believe it is and clarissa shields is uh.
Basically, the headliner but she’s uh talking it up quite frankly, and i’m just curious if you found any uh female fighters down there in the philippi and if not uh, maybe you can just uh have a quick little hunt around uh, because if the women fighters are Just as good as the men’s fighters wow, then i’ve got to say those uh.
The philippines are doing something right in their gyms down there yeah, definitely graham.
Yes, i do have a couple of secrets up my sleeve in regards to that.
We’Ll just leave it at that.
I guess.
For now enough, we were going to uh we’re going to talk about the women fighters, i’m really enjoying the women’s sports all around just to say quickly.
Uh yesterday was the professional debut of the women’s nhl hockey league at madison square gardens.
So i watched quite a bit of that game and uh that hockey game just to say quick guys, and it was a great game like it’s.
It is actually professional hockey.
So we got to give the women as much credit as the men.
Always you know, um and yes, can’t wait to uh start showcasing a couple of these fantastic filipino uh fighting women.
You know, as well as the rest of the world, there’s mexican fighting and there’s american fighting women there, just like the men, there’s they’re they’re, coming from uh from everywhere and at any time you know so, let’s just let’s just uh.
Let’S just try to keep up on it and uh, let you fans know what’s going on uh presently and what’s uh, what’s coming up in the near future, huh, absolutely and they’re!
